606 employees received appointment letters in Punjab: CM Mann handed them over
The Punjab government today issued appointment letters to 606 employees in the Education Department. A ceremony was held at the Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh for this purpose. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann handed over the appointment letters to the newly appointed employees. Earlier, CM Mann addressed the new recruits.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann congratulated all those who received jobs, wishing them a Happy New Year and success in their new responsibilities. The 606 new appointments include 385 special education teachers and 8 principals. He also congratulated Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and other officials present.
CM says: The purpose of calling you here is not to take credit
CM Bhagwant Mann said that the purpose of calling them here was not to take credit, but to allow them to interact with the officials. He said, "It is unfortunate that those who were supposed to write these letters did not use their pens for you for a long time. They only used their pens for their followers and associates. You are all my family, and the same joy I would feel if a member of my family got a job, I feel today seeing you all get jobs. You had dreams for your families, and we are trying to fulfill them."

Special cadre created for recruitment
In his address, CM Mann recited a couplet: "Don't believe in the lines on your hands, even those without hands have destiny." He said that they would be given the task of teaching children who cannot speak, hear, or understand. He said he has met such children who are so troubled that even their parents cannot manage them. NGOs do provide them with support. He said that a special cadre had to be created for this recruitment.
The one whose children are well-educated will be considered a great person
He said that in the coming days, a rich person will not be considered someone with money, expensive cars, or money in lockers, but rather someone whose children are highly educated. When you go to withdraw money from the bank, they might tell you that Vijay Mallya has run away with it, or the ED (Enforcement Directorate) will come and take the locker keys. It has been observed before that the mansions of those who earn a lot of money often lie empty. Since one can still sleep peacefully in jail, what's the point of building a mansion?
A Lesson in Discipline from Abroad
In other countries, points are assigned to driving licenses. These points are deducted for repeated traffic violations. When a person applies for a job, their driving record is also checked. The reasoning is that someone who doesn't behave properly on the road won't be able to maintain discipline in the office either. This is why people there take the rules seriously.
Following this principle, we also evaluate teachers' teaching records and their conduct. Teachers are honored based on these established criteria, ensuring both quality and accountability in education.
All Teachers Included in January 26th and August 15th Celebrations
Now, all teachers, including contract teachers, are being included in the official January 26th and August 15th celebrations. This wasn't the case before, but now everyone is being given equal respect and participation.
The Message of Living in the Present
Often, people don't live in the present. When they grow up, they say, "Get me a hostel room, get me a boat," while in childhood they would say, "Why have you thrown me into this mosquito-infested place?" Therefore, it's important for people to learn to be happy in the present. Life should be lived with laughter, playfulness, and positivity; that should be the goal.
Commitment to Increasing the Education Budget
In Delhi, 26 to 27 percent of the budget is allocated to education, while in other parts of the country, the education budget is comparatively lower. We will also allocate a significant budget for education so that the coming generation can have a better future.
Education According to Children's Interests
To strengthen the foundation of the country, it is essential to prepare children properly. Children should be encouraged in the direction of their interests. Those who want to play should be given opportunities in sports; those who want to become poets should be encouraged in the world of poetry. Only then is the progress of Punjab and the country possible.
