Ghaziabad Tragedy: 3 Sisters Jump from 9th Floor due to Gaming Addiction
Three sisters in Ghaziabad committed suicide by jumping from the ninth floor of their building. The three sisters jumped from the balcony at 2 AM on Tuesday night. Before committing suicide, they locked the room from the inside, then placed a stool and jumped one by one from the balcony.
The three sisters were between 12 and 16 years old. They were addicted to a task-based Korean love game. According to their father, the three sisters were always together. They bathed together and even went to the toilet together. Their addiction to the game was so severe that they had even dropped out of school.
Their father had forbidden them from playing the game and scolded them. This led the three sisters to take this extreme step. An 18-page suicide note was found in the room where the three sisters slept. It read: “Mom and Dad, sorry… I can't give up the game. Now you will realize how much you loved us, and the game you wanted us to quit.”
The incident took place in flat number 907 of Bharat City B-1 Tower. Additional Police Commissioner Law and Order Alok Priyadarshi said that the investigation so far indicates that the three committed suicide. They were playing games on their mobile phones. The circumstances under which the suicide occurred are being investigated. Police said the girls jumped from a height of 80 feet.
The names of the three girls are Nishika (16), Prachi (14), and Pakhi (12). Their father, Chetan, works in online share trading. The family consisted of his wife, a son, and the three daughters. The flat where the family lives has two rooms and a hall.
At the time of the incident, the husband and wife were sleeping with their son. The daughters were sleeping in another room. The family members told Dainik Bhaskar that the daughters first locked the room door from the inside, then jumped. We rushed out after hearing the noise. We saw that the room was locked. Then we broke down the door. We saw that the daughters were not there. Then we ran downstairs. We saw that the daughters were lying on the ground below. SP Atul Kumar Singh said that the police received information at 2:18 AM, after which they reached the spot. The distance from the height from which the three girls jumped to the ground is 80 feet. The three girls were found lying on the ground and were seriously injured. They were taken to the government hospital in Loni by ambulance, where doctors declared all three dead. The father said, "They had been playing the game for 3 years, and they used to say, 'We want to go to Korea.'"
The father, Chetan, said that his daughters wrote, “Sorry Papa, we couldn't give up the game. The Korean game is our life, our soul.” He says, “My daughters had been playing the game for 3 years. They hadn't been going to school for 2 years. They used to play games all day long. They didn't even talk to the people around them. They often used to say that they wanted to go to Korea.”
‘The eldest daughter used to give tasks, and the other two would obey’
Chetan says, “Whenever we went into their room, all three would go to another room. My daughter Prachi used to give tasks to the other two. The two daughters would obey her every word. The three daughters were always together. They would go to the toilet together. They would even bathe together.” ‘Don't let your children play mobile games’
Father Chetan says, “Something very bad happened to my daughters. No parent should let their children play mobile games. You don't know what kind of tasks are being given. If I had known what kind of tasks were being given, we wouldn't have let them play the game at all. In the suicide note, the girls have mentioned suicide and the game.”
