Regional Driving Training Centre to Open in Chandigarh; 4 Acres Allotted

A Regional Driving Training Centre (RDTC) will be opened in Chandigarh to provide better and safer driving training to drivers. Here, drivers will be trained in new technologies, traffic rules, and proper driving techniques. The aim is to reduce road accidents and promote responsible driving.

The administration has allocated approximately 4 acres of land in the Raipur Kalan area for this training center. Drivers from the State Transport Undertaking and other institutions will also be able to receive training here. The center will have the necessary buildings, modern vehicles, and all the required training equipment.

Applications Invited from Private Organizations
The administration has invited applications for the construction and operation of the center. NGOs, educational institutions, government and autonomous bodies, private companies, and vehicle manufacturers can apply. The selected organization will have to build and operate the center at its own expense and with its own resources.

At this center, drivers will receive free and regular training on new model vehicles. This will include training in proper driving techniques, minor vehicle repairs and maintenance, traffic rules, and traffic awareness. A comprehensive plan will also be prepared for the entire project.

No Separate Driving Test Required
Those who receive training here will not have to take a separate driving test for their driving license. After the completion of the training, the Motor Vehicle Inspector will conduct the test, and further action will be taken based on the results.

In addition, they will receive practical training in driving on rural and highway roads, driving on uphill and downhill roads, and driving at night and in adverse weather conditions.
