Bikram Majithia Walks Out of Nabha Jail: "Govt Didn't Want Me to Come Out Alive"
Former Punjab minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia has been released from Nabha Jail in Patiala. Upon his release, he greeted his supporters with folded hands and then twirled his mustache. His wife, Ganeev Kaur, was also present.
During this time, Majithia said, "All glory to Sri Guru Granth Sahib, to Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj. It is due to the immense grace of the Guru Sahib. The more the government tried to suppress me, the more strength I received. We have to confront the rulers of Delhi head-on. I have received this inspiration."
Majithia further said, "From the bottom of my heart, I thank all of you, my mothers and sisters, and every single person in the Majitha constituency who prayed for me. The government wanted me to come out dead, not alive. Therefore, I understood that when even journalists are not being spared and cases are being filed against them, fighting against the government is difficult. One can only fight when there is the grace of the Almighty."
Majithia to visit Gurdwara Sahib
Akali Dal spokesperson Arshdeep Kaler said that the Supreme Court's order was updated late. Following that, the paperwork was completed. After his release, Majithia will first visit a Gurdwara Sahib in Patiala. After that, he may go to Amritsar or Chandigarh.
Majithia was granted bail by the Supreme Court on Monday in a disproportionate assets case. Elaborate preparations have been made for his welcome, from his release from jail to his arrival at his home in Amritsar. He had been imprisoned in Nabha Jail for seven months.
Dera Beas chief had met him
Before Majithia was granted bail on Monday, Baba Gurinder Dhillon, the head of Dera Beas, met him in jail. After coming out, he had termed the drug and other cases registered against Majithia as false. Following this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, without naming the Dera chief, took a dig at him on social media. Mann wrote:

Whether it happens tomorrow or today, only God can protect the courts, where visitors themselves become judges.

After the CM's post, the BJP has retaliated. BJP spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliyewal said, "Even God is displeased with excess. Now you have started criticizing even divine souls. Baba Gurinder Singh Ji, the head of Radha Soami Satsang Beas, is the center of faith for millions of people, but who can make you understand? The followers of the Dera and the people of Punjab will respond to this insult."
