Kabaddi player and promoter Digvijay Singh alias Rana Balachauria, who was killed during a tournament in Punjab's Mohali, was cremated today (December 16) at the village Chankoya crematorium near Balachaur. Lucky Patial and Doni Bal of Bambiha gang carried out this murder due to suspicion of Rana's link with gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. It has nothing to do with Sidhu Musewala. It also emerged that before the murder, someone called Rana Balachauria and took him to the side, where the shooters shot him dead.

The murder was committed in Sohana on Monday late evening. 2 to 3 assailants approached him posing as fans. Rana was shot on the pretext of taking a selfie with him. After which he was admitted to Fortis. On Tuesday morning, his dead body was brought to the government hospital in Mohali, where his postmortem was conducted. Rana had a love marriage with a girl from Dehradun on December 6.

Jagpreet Singh, a resident of Ropar, was also shot during the incident. He ran to help Rana who fell on the ground after being shot.

However, the responsibility of Rana's murder has been taken by the gang of notorious shooter Davinder Bambiha, which is now being run by Armenia-based gangster Lucky Patial. The Bambiha gang says that the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala was avenged by killing Rana. Rana had arranged for the murderers of Moosewala to stay.

Lucky was the shooter of Patiala-Dhoni force: SSP said - Kabaddi player and promoter Kanwar Digvijay Singh alias Rana Balachauria is linked to gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. She was having a rivalry with the gangster Lucky Patial of Bambiha gang. Rana was killed only at the behest of Lucky Patial and his associate Doni Bal. He sent these shooters.
Both shooters are residents of Amritsar: SSP said - we have identified 2 shooters in this. One of the shooters is Aditya Kapoor aka Makhan and Karan Pathak, both hailing from Amritsar. Both have fired shots. The third shooter has been identified but is yet to be revealed.
17 FIRs on both shooters, linked to Doni Bal: SSP said- Aditya Kapoor and Karan Pathak, both shooters are related to Doni Bal's gang. 15 cases are registered against Aditya while 2 cases are also registered against Karan. His entire record has been taken out. His name was also in the post taking responsibility after the murder.
No connection with Sidhu Moosewala: The SSP said that the people involved in this murder have no direct relation with Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. It seems that the name Musewala has been taken to sensationalize and justify it. There is no such thing as taking revenge for the killing of Moosewala.

Killing to control Kabaddi: SSP said - this killing has been done with the intention of controlling or dominating Kabaddi. Rana Balachauria was a big name in the field of Kabaddi. Gangsters try to dominate wherever they are active.
Mankeerat Aulakh was not the target: SSP said - Mankeerat Aulakh was not the target of the attackers. The attackers came only to shoot Rana Balachauria. There are 2-3 more people who have given ground support to the shooters. They are also being identified.
