In light of the increasing incidents of police personnel posting inappropriate videos and reels on social media platforms, the Punjab Police has implemented strict guidelines. Recently, some police officers were seen making dance, Bhangra, and entertainment videos while in uniform, which has affected the department's image.

Following this, the DGP's office has instructed all Range IGs, DIGs, Police Commissioners, and District SSPs to increase surveillance and take immediate action against those who violate the rules.

Report to be submitted to the DGP, will affect ACR and promotions
The State Cyber ​​Crime Wing has been designated as the nodal agency in this regard, which will prepare periodic reports on suspicious social media activities and present them at a meeting chaired by the DGP. The department states that employees who violate the rules will have their Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) affected, and their promotions may also be impacted.
