People will no longer have to face difficulties at Punjab Police stations to get their cases addressed. The Punjab Police will receive approximately 1600 new personnel by March 2026. These will include Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs). These appointments are being made on a promotional basis. All the personnel are currently undergoing training. This was announced by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav at a press conference in Chandigarh today.

The DGP stated that this will strengthen the police stations. He also said that after calling Dial 112, police assistance will arrive within five to eight minutes.
