India and South Africa players arrive in Chandigarh; the second T20 match will be played in Mohali tomorrow; Gill and Abhishek were seen together.
The Indian and South African cricket teams have arrived at Chandigarh Airport for the T20 match to be held tomorrow, Thursday, at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. From the airport, the teams proceeded to the Hyatt hotel.
The players, who arrived from Bhubaneswar, traveled in two buses, escorted by a convoy of approximately 10 police vehicles. The team was led by DSP and SP level officers. The convoy was escorted by Punjab Police up to the Chandigarh border and then by Chandigarh Police.
Upon seeing the Indian and South African players, fans at the airport started cheering and waving the Indian flag.
A fan of Shubman Gill was seen waving the tricolor flag.
A young man named Vishal Parmar from Ahmedabad was seen waving the Indian flag. Vishal identified himself as a fan of Shubman Gill. He had traveled all the way from Ahmedabad specifically to see Shubman. He arrived by train.
Team arrived from Bhubaneswar
A five-match T20 series is being played between South Africa and India. The first match was played on December 9th in Cuttack (Barabati Stadium), where India won by 101 runs. Both teams arrived in Chandigarh from Cuttack today. Both teams and match officials will be staying at the Hyatt Regency and Hyatt Centric hotels in Chandigarh.
This match will be played in Chandigarh on the 11th. Then, on the 12th, the team will depart for Dharamshala by charter flight, where the third match will be played on the 14th. Initially, the teams were expected to arrive around 2 PM.

Three players from Punjab in the team
Three players in the Indian team – Shubman Gill, Arshdeep Singh, and Abhishek Sharma – are from Punjab. Two of them, Shubman Gill and Arshdeep Singh, are from this region. Therefore, all eyes will be on these two players. These players had previously faced each other in IPL matches.
Shubman Gill plays for Gujarat Titans. Arshdeep Singh plays for Punjab, and Abhishek Sharma plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh is the mentor of both Gill and Abhishek Sharma.
