Kangana Ranaut will appear in Bathinda court: No relief from Supreme Court on FIR
Himachal's Mandi BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut has been summoned once again in connection with the controversial tweets made during the farmers' movement.
The Bathinda Sessions Court has fixed the next hearing on September 29, in which Kangana's presence will be mandatory. Four days before this, the Supreme Court had refused to give relief to Kangana in this matter.
This case is of 2021, when Kangana tweeted during the farmers' movement and described 87-year-old farmer woman Mahinder Kaur as a woman who joined the protest for Rs 100.
On this, Mahinder Kaur had filed a defamation case. Kangana says that she had only reposted a lawyer's post.
On the other hand, Mahinder Kaur said that if Kangana apologizes to her, then she will also forgive her, because she has no enmity with her.
But she clarified that Kangana is still justifying her point, so she expects justice from the court only. Mahinder Kaur said that they had joined the protest not out of greed but for the sake of their lands.
The Supreme Court had also reprimanded Kangana 4 days ago
Kangana Ranaut's troubles have increased after not getting relief from the Supreme Court. The court clearly said that her tweet made during the farmers' movement cannot be considered just a retweet because she herself has added content to it.
The bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta said that the trial court will interpret what it means and Kangana will have to give clarification there.
In fact, during the farmers' movement, Kangana shared a photo of an elderly woman on social media and wrote that women join the movement for Rs 100.
He commented on that post and made fun of it- “Hahaha, this is the same grandmother who was featured by Time magazine as a powerful woman of India.
She is available for Rs 100. Pakistani journalists have shamefully hijacked international PR for India. We need our own people to speak at the international level.”
For this statement, farmer woman Mahinder Kaur had filed a defamation case against Kangana. Now the Bathinda Sessions Court has also issued summons to her to appear on September 29.
The case was filed on January 4, 2021
Mahinder Kaur (81), a resident of Bahadurgarh village in Bathinda, filed a defamation case on January 4, 2021 after Kangana's tweet. The hearing went on for about 13 months, after which the Bathinda court issued summons to Kangana and ordered her to appear.
After this, Kangana filed a relief petition in the Punjab-Haryana High Court, which was rejected. After this, she reached the Supreme Court. Kangana has not got relief from there either.

What does Kangana know about farming?
When the matter started gaining momentum after Kangana's tweet, Mohinder Kaur had said in a conversation with a TV channel, "What does Kangana know about farming? She is Kamli (crazy). Shame on whatever she said. What does Kangana know about the earnings of a farmer. When sweat flows, blood boils, then money comes.
It is very difficult to earn money from farming. Kangana has made a very false allegation on me." Mohinder Kaur said- what do I have to do with 100 rupees
In the same interview, Mohinder Kaur reacted to Kangana's Rs 100 comment and said that the work in her fields never ends, so why would she join the protest for Rs 100. Whatever Kangana has said is wrong. One should never speak wrong about anyone.
A woman constable slapped her in 2024
After winning the Lok Sabha elections from Mandi seat, Kangana was slapped by CISF woman constable Kulwinder Kaur at Chandigarh airport on June 6, 2024. The woman employee also told the reason for slapping. She had told that Kangana had called the women farmers who sit on dharna by taking Rs 100 each.
Her mother was also present in the protest. No FIR was lodged against the woman constable. In this case, DSP Airport had told that Kangana did not lodge any complaint in this matter.
