Jewellery worth 2 crores found in Assam officer's house: 92 lakh cash recovered
Assam Civil Services (ACS) officer Nupur Bora was detained on charges of possessing disproportionate assets. The Special Vigilance Team raided Nupur's house in Guwahati. From where 92 lakh cash and jewelry worth about 2 crores were recovered.
A second team also raided her rented house in Barpeta, from where about 10 lakh cash was recovered. Vigilance also raided the house of Nupur's associate Lat Mandal Surjit Deka.
Nupur is accused of transferring the land of Hindus to suspicious persons in exchange for money while she was in Barpeta Revenue Circle. Currently, Nupur is the Circle Officer in Goroimari, Kamrup.
CM Sarma said that she was under surveillance for the last 6 months after complaints of her name being added in disputed land cases. That's why we have taken strict action against her.
6 years of service and assets more than income
Assam Civil Service officer Nupur Bora joined the civil service in 2019. Bora was born on 31 March 1989. She hails from Golaghat in Kamrup district. She was posted as a circle officer in Goroimari in Kamrup district. She has graduated in English Literature from Guwahati University and studied from Cotton College.

Bora joined the Assam Civil Service in 2019 and started her administrative career as Assistant Commissioner in Karbi Anglong. She held this post till March June 2023.
