Chandigarh: CM Di Yogashala in Punjab- The Punjab government's unique initiative 'CM Di Yogshala' has not only transformed the health landscape of the state but also set a shining example of the people-centric policies of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Bhagwant Mann government.
Inspired by the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, this effort is making Yoga not just an exercise but a lifestyle, which is proving helpful in fighting modern diseases like stress, obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure. This scheme is proving to be a milestone towards making Punjab drug-free and fit.
A major testament to the success of this program is its unprecedented scale. The government implemented it in four phases in just one year. The initiative began in April 2023 in four major cities, where over 100 instructors conducted over 500 classes. Soon it reached 9 cities by June 2023 and more than 50,000 people joined it.
The third phase in January 2024 covered all urban areas with 1,500 trainers, and the fourth phase, starting in March 2024, took it to villages and blocks. Today, the initiative has reached all 23 districts and 146 blocks of Punjab.
Today, the initiative's popularity has reached such a level that nearly 200,000 citizens across Punjab are taking advantage of these free yoga classes—up from 100,000 in March 2025. More than 4,581 yoga classes are being held across the state, morning and evening.

This huge participation shows that people have wholeheartedly embraced this initiative and the programme has truly become a “Jan Lehar” (people's wave) leading the people of Punjab towards a healthy and happy life.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's vision is clearly reflected in the dual purpose of this scheme. This initiative is not only strengthening the physical and mental health of citizens, but it is also creating significant employment opportunities for youth.
The government has appointed 2,630 certified yoga instructors to run this programme, providing a respectable career to the youth of Punjab and channelizing their energy in a positive direction.
