Punjab Weather: Major U-Turn Ahead; Rain and Strong Winds to Cool Down Scorching State
CHANDIGARH – After a grueling spell of intense heat, the people of Punjab are set to receive significant relief. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a major shift in weather patterns across the state, with widespread rain and gusty winds expected to break the ongoing heatwave.
IMD Issues Orange Alert
The Meteorological Centre has issued an Orange Alert for several parts of the state. Forecasters expect strong winds with speeds reaching 50–60 km/h to accompany the showers. This change is primarily driven by an active western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation currently hovering over the region.
