All four accused arrested in Mohali car robbery case: Caught after an encounter, one shot in the leg,
The police have arrested the four robbers who looted an i20 car at gunpoint on Landran-Sarhad Road in Mohali district. During the arrest, there was an encounter between the police and the criminals.
During this, one of the accused fired a bullet at Inspector Gabbar in an attempt to escape, which hit his car. In response, the police also fired a bullet, which hit the accused's leg.
The injured accused was immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment. The police also recovered the snatched i20 car and the Swift Dzire from the accused's possession, in which they had come to commit the crime.
SP Rajinder Singh said that after the incident, under the leadership of Inspector Gabbar Singh, in-charge of the Anti-Snatching Cell, evidence was collected by tracing the location of the criminals. It was found that the accused were hiding in Malerkotla. The police team raided and arrested three accused Pragat Singh, Taranjit Singh and Bhupi from there. All three are residents of Malerkotla.
The search for the fourth accused Bhupendra Singh was on. On getting his location in Mohali, the police chased him. He was on a bike and started running despite warnings to stop. The bike slipped at high speed and he fell. After this, he took out a pistol and fired at the police. The bullet hit Inspector Gabbar Singh's official car. In retaliation, the police bullet hit the leg of the accused Bhupendra Singh, after which he was arrested.

On the night of 20 August 2025, around 10 pm, Tara Singh and Tushar Sharma, employees of Chandigarh Group of Colleges CGC Landran, were returning in their i20 car. On the way, four miscreants in a Swift Dzire car overtook their car on Landran Border Road and stopped it. The miscreants beat both of them at gunpoint and scared them out of the car. After this, they looted their i20 car and fled.
