In Haryana, Kanwadiyas' pickup collided with high voltage wires: 2 died in agony, 15 youths were on board;

On Tuesday morning, in Yamunanagar district of Haryana, a pickup van carrying Kanwariyas going to Haridwar to collect Dak Kanwar came in contact with high voltage wires. In this accident, 2 Kanwariyas died on the spot, while two were severely burnt.

At the time of the accident, there were 15 Kanwariyas in the vehicle, out of which 11 youths somehow saved their lives by jumping. The intensity of the current was so much that three tyres of the vehicle burst with a blast.

On the other hand, it is alleged that the people nearby came to the spot after seeing the accident, but due to the current flowing in the vehicle, no one tried to save them. After a long time, when the situation became normal, people came to them.

The deceased have been identified as Kuldeep and Harish, residents of village Gumthala, Yamunanagar. At the same time, Rinku and Sumit, who were severely burnt, have been taken to the hospital for treatment. Here, know in detail how the accident happened...

Dak Kanwad was prepared on Tuesday morning: According to the information, 15 youths of Gumthala village of Yamunanagar had taken a pledge to bring Ganga water from Haridwar. Due to this resolution, the youths had prepared a pickup vehicle as a Dak Kanwad at around 6:30 am on Tuesday morning. Before leaving for Haridwar, all the youths went to the temple in the village to pay obeisance. After paying obeisance in the temple, everyone had to leave after doing parikrama in the village.
The vehicle came in contact with wires while doing parikrama of the village: According to the villagers, all the youths who had gone to pay obeisance in the temple were doing parikrama of the village with the vehicle prepared as Dak Kanwad. They had gone a little distance from the temple when their vehicle came in contact with the high voltage line passing above. This is a 11000 volt line. As soon as it came in contact with the wires, current passed through the vehicle. Due to this, the people in the vehicle got a severe electric shock. 3 tires of the vehicle also burst with a bang.

2 died on the spot, two were burnt, 11 saved their lives by jumping: Villagers said that as soon as the current passed through the vehicle, two youths Kuldeep and Harish died on the spot in agony, while two Rinku and Sumit were severely burnt. The other 11 somehow saved their lives by jumping. 5-6 youths got injured while jumping. It was told that these four got caught in the current because they were touching the iron parts of the vehicle, while the other youths who survived were sitting on mattresses and the girl's mats.
People kept standing and watching for a long time, did not try to save: Many people of the village were present during the parikrama, but immediately after the accident, no villager got into the vehicle to save the Kanwariyas. First, people made sure that there is no current in the vehicle now. When they saw that there is no current now, people started taking the Kanwariyas out of the vehicle. Also, they informed the police about it. On receiving the information, the police took the injured to the civil hospital, where Kuldeep and Harish were declared dead by the doctor. Rinku and Sumit were declared serious and are undergoing treatment. Whereas, 5 to 6 people have been discharged from the hospital after first aid.

The height of the vehicle was increased to 9 feet by putting tarpaulin etc.

According to the police, the Kanwariyas had put tarpaulin on the pickup vehicle to avoid rain. To stop this tarpaulin, they had installed an iron pipe in the middle. Due to the installation of pipe and tarpaulin, the height of the vehicle had increased to about 8-9 feet. When the vehicle was passing through the streets of the village, during this time the iron pipe coming out of the tarpaulin came in contact with the high voltage line. Due to this, current passed through the entire vehicle.

The height of the road increased, not the electricity pole

According to the police, the height of the high voltage line which this vehicle came in contact with is about 10 feet from the ground. A new road was built in the village a long time ago. This road was built at a higher level than the old road. The height of the road was increased, but the electric poles installed on the sides were not raised. Due to this, there was a gap of about 9 feet between the ground and the wires. The height of the vehicles of the Kanwadis also increased to 8-9 feet. Due to this, the vehicles collided with the wires.
