From Sarabjit to Noor Hussain: Indian Woman Sent to Lahore Shelter Home Following Marriage Controversy.

Sarabjit Kaur, a Punjabi woman who got married in Pakistan, will not return to India yet. The Ministry of Home Affairs of Pakistan has banned the Special Travel Permit. After this, Sarabjit Kaur, who was arrested by the police, has been sent to a Pakistani shelter home (Darul Aman). During this time he will be kept under police protection.

Sarabjit was arrested by Pakistani police from Nankana Sahib on January 4 in the case of visa expiry. He was to be sent to India on the same day. But the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan has stopped it citing the pending case in the Lahore High Court.

It has been confirmed by the Home Department of Punjab Province. It has been reported that until the necessary permit for Sarabjit Kaur to go to India is issued, there will be arrangements for her to stay here. According to officials, this permit is expected to be issued by next week.

Medical done by Sarabjit, got full fit

According to the officials of the Home Department of Pakistan, a medical examination of Sarabjit Kaur was conducted on 9 January 2026, in which her health was found to be satisfactory. The doctors said that currently Sarabjit's health condition is normal. He does not require any immediate medical attention.

Lawyer Ali Changji Sandhu, who is pleading this case in the Lahore High Court, said that the case related to Sarabjit Kaur is still in the legal process. Efforts are being made to complete all the formalities and send Sarabjit Kaur to India as soon as possible by being in constant contact with the court and the relevant departments.

Pakistan Immigration Form Missed Many Details: After Sarabjit got married in Pakistan, his visa documents were scrutinized. It was found that he had not filled the important information like his nationality and passport number in the form filled in Pakistani immigration. This made it difficult to trace him in Pakistan. After getting married, Sarabjit was hiding with Nasir.

The arrest took place on January 4, the case reached the Lahore High Court

Pakistan Police arrested Sarabjit and her husband Nasir Hussain on January 4. His photo during police custody was also revealed. Meanwhile, it was learned that Sarabjit and Nasir Hussain had filed a petition in the court. In it, he had alleged that the police and officials of Pakistan are constantly harassing him. In this case, in November, Lahore High Court Judge Farooq Haider had given a decision that if the marriage and conversion took place of Sarabjit's will, then the authorities should not disturb him.
