House Collapses Due to Cylinder Blast in Haryana, 11 Burnt: 7 Children Suffer 60% Burns, Pregnant Woman Critical; Explosion During LPG Refill

On Thursday morning in Yamunanagar, Haryana, 11 people—including 7 children and 2 women—sustained severe injuries following an LPG cylinder explosion. All of them suffered burns covering 50 to 60 percent of their bodies. One of the injured is a pregnant woman whose condition is critical. The force of the blast caused the walls of the house to collapse and even resulted in cracks appearing in the ceiling slab. The incident occurred around 8:00 AM, while gas was being transferred from a large cylinder to a smaller one inside the house.

Reports suggest that a sudden, loud explosion occurred during the gas transfer process, causing fire to engulf the entire house and trapping the people present inside. The blast was so powerful that it triggered panic in the surrounding area, prompting neighbors to rush to the scene to offer assistance. The injured were subsequently referred from the Civil Hospital to the PGI (Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research) for advanced treatment.

According to reports, two filled gas cylinders were kept in the room where the explosion took place; fortunately, these cylinders were not caught in the blast. Additionally, several other individuals had been present in the room earlier but had left for work at a nearby factory just moments before the explosion occurred.

Meanwhile, one of the injured victims, Ramsaran, explained that they were cooking food on a stove set up outside the room. Two gas cylinders were kept nearby, one of which was leaking.
