Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar arrived to inaugurate the 53rd general meeting of the Mayor Council held in Karnal on Tuesday. The minister said that it is raining in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and North Zone and due to this many areas are flooded. The record of almost 40 years has been broken.

After which it was found that a lot of damage is happening there and today the Haryana government has decided to give assistance of five crores each to Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and by this evening the money will reach both the places.

If more is expected from Haryana, we will help

He said that we will take care of the people of our Haryana, but the damage in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir is more. Therefore, if more is expected from Haryana, the Haryana government will fulfill it. I have also spoken to the Home Minister regarding the help of flood victims, he will also help on behalf of the central government.

PM Narendra Modi has returned from his foreign trip. Therefore, there will be a discussion between the Home Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after that whatever decision is taken, help will be provided accordingly.

In addition, crops have been damaged in Punjab, for this our Agriculture Minister has also made a program for Punjab, he will also visit there, after assessing the damage, the loss will be compensated by the government.

70 mayors from 21 states are participating

More than 70 mayors from 21 states across the country are participating in this two-day meeting in Karnal. This conference has been organized to further strengthen the role of mayors, improve urban governance and discuss future development plans of cities.

Along with this, the mayors are sharing the achievements of their respective cities. Special discussion was held on the working style of Karnal Municipal Corporation, online portal and third ranking in the Swachh Survey.
