What does the research say?
A 2021 study by IIT Kharagpur revealed that when tea or coffee at a temperature of 85 to 90 degrees Celsius is poured into a paper or plastic cup, about 25,000 microplastic particles dissolve in that drink in just 15 minutes. This study was done by Dr. Sudha Goyal. According to them, if you drink tea or coffee in such a cup three times a day, then you are taking 75,000 microplastic particles into your body every day.
