CBI raids Punjab DIG Bhullar's farmhouse: 55 acres of land in Ludhiana under investigation
The CBI arrived today at the farmhouse of Punjab DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, located in Machhiwara, Ludhiana. The team has been investigating the farmhouse in Mand Sheria village since 12:30 p.m. The farmhouse also has fields adjacent to it, and the DIG owns 55 acres of land here.
According to reports, the farmhouse's belongings had already been removed. The CBI will also trace those who moved into the farmhouse after the DIG's arrest. Two transformers have been installed for irrigation.
It is being reported that, through his influence, the two transformers were connected to different feeders, so that one transformer could supply electricity for eight hours and the other for the next eight hours.
Earlier on Thursday, the team visited Bhullar's house in Sector 40, Chandigarh. Videography of every item in the house was conducted. A list of each item will be compiled and its value calculated. This includes everything from ACs to flower pots and light bulbs. The raid lasted approximately nine hours.
The CBI recorded the questions asked of the family members on a laptop and videotaped them. They were also made to sign their statements. It is reported that the questioning continued for about two hours. On October 16th, DIG Bhullar and his middleman, Krishanu, were arrested. Both are in judicial custody until October 31st.
2.16 Lakh Salary, Property Worth Crores
DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar's monthly basic salary is 2.16 lakh rupees. However, his property holdings exceed 15 crore rupees. He owns properties in major cities in Punjab, including Jalandhar, Mohali, Ludhiana, and Kapurthala. All of these cities are A-grade. Investigations are underway to determine the source of the money, although he has two years left for retirement.
Directly recruited as DSP, then promoted to IPS
Bhullar was directly appointed as DSP through the Punjab Public Service Commission. After this, he was mostly posted in Mohali. He was promoted to IPS in 2007. He held the position of DSP during the Akali Dal government, while during the Congress government he held the positions of SP and SSP. He also served as IG during the Aam Aadmi Party government.

Property acquired in 6 years under scrutiny
The CBI is investigating all the assets acquired in the last 6 years. Lockers are being opened. Although the CBI did not seek his remand after his arrest, it is now believed that the CBI will seek his remand, as the BNS provides that an accused can be remanded at any time within 40 days.
CBI to take former DIG on remand
The CBI may take former DIG Bhullar, arrested in a bribery case, on remand at any time. The CBI conducted an investigation at Bhullar's bungalow for approximately 9 hours. During this period, the bungalow was measured and a list of the items kept there was prepared. Bhullar's family members were questioned for approximately 2 hours.
The CBI has asked the family members questions and their answers have been typed on a laptop and videotaped. The statements have been signed by the family members, sealed, and placed in an envelope. It is being reported that the CBI will now take Bhullar on remand and ask him the same questions, seeking to gather information regarding the entire property and bribery case.
