Haryana Cabinet Meeting Today: Nayab Saini Government to Discuss Over a Dozen Key Agendas; CM to Address Media Post-Meeting

Chandigarh — A crucial meeting of the Haryana State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is scheduled for Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Haryana Civil Secretariat. The council of ministers is expected to deliberate on more than a dozen key policy agendas, ranging from social welfare expansions to financial disbursements.

Following the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Saini will hold a press conference at around 12:00 PM on the 4th floor of the Secretariat to brief the media on the cabinet’s decisions. During this session, the Chief Minister will also disburse financial assistance to beneficiaries under various Antyodaya welfare schemes.

Key Highlights of the Cabinet Agenda

  • Expansion of Lado Lakshmi Yojana: The cabinet is likely to approve increasing the annual family income eligibility limit from ₹1.80 lakh to ₹3 lakh. This revision aims to bring hundreds of thousands of additional women across Haryana under the social safety net.

  • Waiver of Penal Rent for Bhupinder Singh Hooda: A proposal to waive the penal rent of ₹27,17,764 accrued on the official government residence of Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda will be taken up for discussion.

  • Relief for Former Chairman Rajdeep Phogat: The cabinet will consider a proposal to waive outstanding penal rent amounting to ₹38.47 lakh concerning former housing board chairman Rajdeep Phogat.

  • Amendment in Media Welfare Scheme: Amendments to the 'Haryana Media Personnel Welfare Fund Disbursement Scheme' are slated for formal approval to widen institutional support for working journalists.

  • Fund Allocation to Urban Local Bodies: In line with the recommendations of the 6th State Finance Commission, fund transfers to municipal corporations, municipal councils, and municipalities will be reviewed and sanctioned.

  • Approval of Rural Livelihood Mission: Ex-post facto approval is expected for the notification of the 'Haryana Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Scheme, 2026'.

Immediately following the discussions, direct benefit transfers (DBT) will be initiated for Antyodaya beneficiaries alongside detailed policy announcements by the Chief Minister.
