A big news of pride and happiness has come out for the cricket lovers of Karnal. Fast bowler Anshul Kamboj, who hails from the village Fazilpur of the district, has been included in the playing-11 of the fourth match of the ongoing Test series against England. This is the first international test match of his career. As soon as the news of Anshul's selection came out, there was an atmosphere of celebration in the whole of Karnal. Every cricket lover's eyes are now fixed on Anshul's performance. He has performed brilliantly against England Lions
Before the start of the Test series, Anshul was a part of the India A team. He played two unofficial Tests against England Lions, in which he performed brilliantly. In these matches, Anshul took 5 wickets and also scored a half-century. His best bowling performance was 2 wickets for 6 runs in 3 overs. This performance has now become the basis of his international debut. Coach Satish Rana has expressed confidence that Anshul will take Team India to a good position in this match.

Has proved his ability in IPL and Ranji
Anshul has already proved his bowling edge in IPL and Ranji. In 2022, he made his debut in domestic cricket with the Ranji Trophy against Tripura. After this, he played an important role in helping Haryana win the title by taking 17 wickets in 10 matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023-24. In November 2024, in the Group-C match of the Ranji Trophy against Kerala, he created history - taking all 10 wickets in an innings for 49 runs in 30.1 overs. He became the third fast bowler in India to do such a feat.
Bought by CSK for 3.5 crores in IPL 2025
IPL franchises were eyeing Anshul since 2024. That year, Mumbai Indians included him in the team, where he played three matches and took 2 wickets. But in 2025, Chennai Super Kings bought him for Rs 3.5 crore and Anshul proved that trust right. In a match against Gujarat, he took 3 wickets for just 6 runs in 2.3 overs. So far in two seasons, Anshul has played 11 IPL matches and has taken 10 wickets, in which his best performance is 3 wickets for 6 runs. His economy rate has been 9.08.

Family got emotional on son's success
As soon as the news of Anshul's selection was received, there was a wave of happiness in the family. His father said that the son's hard work has paid off. He said that he used to work in the fields daily and send his son to the city for cricket training. Coach Satish Rana says that Anshul is a complete all-rounder in every sense, who can prove useful for the team in both batting and bowling.
