Google and Meta's problems increased, ED summoned them, know what is the whole matter

ED Summons To Google-Meta: The troubles of Google and Meta, the well-known companies of the tech sector, are going to increase. The Enforcement Directorate has sent a notice to Google and Meta in the case of money laundering related to betting applications. The Economic Times has quoted its sources as saying that the ED has asked the representatives of both the companies to appear at its headquarters in Delhi on July 21.

ED's grip on Google-Meta

It is alleged that Google and Meta platforms are promoting betting apps through science and increasing their reach to the users. Now the investigating agency is engaged in investigating the possible violation of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) as to how the work of promoting illegal apps was being done by the digital platform.

This action has been taken on Google and Meta at a time when recently ED raided four places in Mumbai in the Dabba Trading and online betting case. In this raid, Rs 3.3 crore, precious watches, jewellery, foreign currency and luxurious vehicles were seized.

This is how it came on ED radar

ED is investigating the financial and operation activities of Dabba Trading Apps, which are involved in illegal trading and betting platforms, namely - VMoney, Standard Trades Ltd, VM Trading, I Bull Capital Ltd, 11Starss, LotusBook and GameBetLeague. According to officials, online betting platforms were being operated through While Lab Apps and its admin rights were shared on the basis of profits.
