Modi spoke for 103 minutes on Independence Day: The longest speech by any PM at the Red Fort
On the 79th Independence Day, PM Modi hoisted the tricolor for the 12th time at the Red Fort. During this, he gave a speech of 103 minutes. This is the longest speech given by any Prime Minister from the Red Fort till date.
By giving a speech at the Red Fort, Modi has broken his own record. He gave a speech of 88 minutes in 2015. Then he broke the record of the first Prime Minister Pandit Nehru. Nehru gave a speech of 72 minutes in 1947.
The PM started his speech with Operation Sindoor. He spoke on it for more than 13 minutes. He put forth his views on terrorism, Indus Agreement, self-reliance, Made in India, Naxalism and illegal intruders. He also responded to Trump's tariff without naming them. He said-
