J&K Encounter: One Terrorist Killed in Nowshera Infiltration Bid, Search for Second Underway
The Indian Army killed a terrorist during an infiltration attempt across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jhangar-Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army stated that on March 10, 2026, at around 3 p.m., the movement of two terrorists was detected in the Jhangar-Nowshera area along the Line of Control.
The Army stated that troops acted swiftly and successfully foiled the infiltration attempt. The search for the second terrorist is ongoing. According to the Army, ground and aerial surveillance is being used.
This is the second infiltration attempt foiled by security forces in the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir in the last five days.
February 23: The Army reported that seven terrorists were killed after a 326-day operation.
Earlier on February 23, the Indian Army's White Knight Corps posted photos of seven terrorists on Twitter and wrote that after 326 days, the terror network in Kishtwar has been eliminated.
The post stated that Jaish commander Saifullah was among the terrorists killed. Saifullah was a terror mastermind in Kishtwar. The White Knight Corps stated that, in addition to them, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the CRPF, and the Army's intelligence agencies were also involved in Kishtwar.
Two Army Operations in 2026
Operation Trashi-1: This operation was launched on January 18 in the forests of Sonar village near Mandral-Singhpora in the Chatru belt. Eight soldiers were injured in the first encounter, of whom Havildar Gajendra Singh died during treatment. Subsequent encounters took place on January 22 and 24, while another exchange of fire broke out in the Dolgam area on January 31. The operation concluded with the elimination of three terrorists in Chatru.

Operation Kiya: On February 4, the White Knight Corps conducted a joint operation with CIF Delta, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF in the Joffer Forest area of Basantgarh. Security forces used UBGLs (under-barrel grenade launchers) against the terrorists, destroying a portion of the cave. Both terrorists were killed in the blast.
