High Drama in Fatehabad: Lawyers Strike Following Dispute with DSP’s Staff at Court Gate
The atmosphere at the Fatehabad District Court complex parking lot heated up on Monday when a dispute arose between the DSP's reader and a security guard. The argument escalated to the point where a lawyer present at the scene also got into a heated exchange with the police officer. Angered by the incident, the lawyers immediately suspended work and began protesting in the court premises.
The dispute reportedly began with an argument between the DSP's reader and the security guard over parking. Following this, former Bar Association president Naresh Soni arrived at the scene. When he inquired about the reason for the dispute, he also got into an argument with the police officer. The lawyers allege that the police officer used abusive language.
Lawyers stop work and gather at the gate
Upon receiving the information, lawyers gathered at the spot and stopped all work. The lawyers termed the police officer's behavior as an insult to the dignity of the judiciary and demanded strict action against the guilty officer. Former Bar Association presidents Naresh Soni and Vinay Sharma said that such behavior would not be tolerated under any circumstances in the court premises. They stated that the protest would continue until concrete action is taken against the police officer concerned.
Violation of traffic rules
Vinay Sharma also pointed out that the vehicle had a high-security number plate on the back, while the front had a private number plate. He added that there were several other irregularities, constituting a blatant violation of traffic rules. He demanded that the vehicle should also be चालानed (fined).
Bar Council Chairman also arrives
Haryana-Punjab Bar Council Chairman Rakesh Gupta, who was in Fatehabad in connection with the Bar Council elections, also arrived at the scene. The lawyers raised the issue with him as well. The Chairman assured the lawyers of his support and said that he would speak to the DGP if necessary.
