Ram Rahim is in jail since 2017
On 25 August 2017, Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the sexual exploitation case of 2 sadhvis. After this, on 17 January 2019, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case. At the same time, in October 2021, the CBI court sentenced him to life imprisonment in the murder case of Dera manager Ranjit Singh.
3 years after getting the sentence, Ram Rahim was acquitted by the High Court in this case. Right now Ram Rahim is lodged in Rohtak's Sunariya jail. He has come out of jail 13 times so far on parole and furlough. This is the 14th time Ram Rahim has come out of jail.
