Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced that the 'Breakfast' scheme will soon be launched in government schools in the state. The CM is on a tour of Tamil Nadu. On Tuesday, he took stock of the breakfast scheme launched by the government there for urban primary schools. He arrived at the school as the chief guest.

Along with Chief Minister MK Stalin, he first served food to the children and then sat with them and had food. On this occasion, he said that Punjab will also implement this scheme in its schools. This subject will be discussed in the cabinet.

At the same time, he also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Bhagwant Mann said, “Nowadays, leaders at the national level say anything. People abuse them. Lies after lies, slogans after slogans are being spoken. ‘Achhe din aayenge’—don’t know when they will come. Theirs have come, but ours have not. I had also said in Parliament that everything Modi ji said turned out to be a slogan. Do you even know how to make tea? Truth moves forward. He said that the country will not become a religious leader with speeches.

Tamil Nadu food in every town of Punjab

Chief Minister Mann said that there is no shortage of grains in our country. Punjab is the food bowl of the country. He said that now Tamil Nadu food has become popular at the national level. Masala dosa, upma and panipuri are easily available in every town of Punjab. However, Punjabi food is considered a bit heavy. He also said that this scheme will get a good response here.

The CM said that his government has opened 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics so far and preparations are on to open 200 more. About 100 people are getting daily from these clinics. 70 thousand people are taking advantage. All the treatment here is absolutely free.

He further said that the results of government schools in Punjab have also improved a lot. This year, students of 805 government schools have passed the NEET exam, 469 have cleared JEE and 44 students have also cleared JEE Advanced. When children study happily, their results will be even better.

What is the difference between breakfast and mid-day meal?

The main difference between mid-day meal and breakfast scheme is that mid-day meal is given in the afternoon and it is given to students from class 1 to 8. Whereas breakfast scheme is for primary classes. Which is given in the morning at the time of school. In this, special attention has been given to the health of children and they will also be served millets.

The government believes that when children get breakfast in the morning, needy families will also send their children to school. This will increase attendance in schools and improve the level of education. In the breakfast scheme, upma is given on Monday and Thursday, khichdi on Tuesday, Pongal on Wednesday And sweets are given on Fridays.

Punjab and Tamil Nadu share deep ties

On this occasion, the Tamil Nadu government said that the ties between Punjab and Tamil Nadu are very deep. In 1969, the then Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi visited Punjab. At that time, he went to Ludhiana Agricultural University and studied the model there. After this, an Agricultural University was established in Coimbatore in 1971.
