'My life is in danger', Rahul Gandhi told the court,
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi told a Pune court on August 13 that his life is in danger. He said that my life is in danger due to recent political conflicts and the family relations of complainant Satyaki Savarkar. Rahul Gandhi has appealed to the Special MP/MLA Court to take cognizance of the serious apprehensions he has expressed about his safety and fair proceedings during the hearing of this defamation case.
Rahul Gandhi appeals for preventive protection
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi told the Pune MP/MLA Court that his life is in danger because complainant Satyaki Savarkar has described himself as a descendant of Nathuram Godse. The Congress MP says that the history of this lineage is associated with violent ideology, due to which he fears harm or being falsely implicated. He has demanded 'preventive protection' from the court, that is, protection in advance, so that both his life and the fairness of the case are protected.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi mentioned his recent statements, due to which he received displeasure and threats from BJP leaders. Rahul Gandhi mentioned the slogan of vote thief government, giving evidence of electoral malpractices and saying in Parliament that a true Hindu is not violent.
Rahul Gandhi reaches court regarding Savarkar defamation case
This case is related to a speech in London in March 2023, in which Rahul mentioned an incident about Savarkar. Satyaki Savarkar says that this is a lie and defamation. According to the complaint, Rahul Gandhi had told the people present there that Savarkar has written in a book that he and his five-six friends were beating a Muslim man and Savarkar was happy about this.

In the court, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's lawyer Milling Pawar has said that the complainant Satyaki has a connection with Savarkar and Godse's family. He can misuse his influence. The next hearing on this matter will be held on September 10.
