Haryana IPS Suicide Case: SIT Records 50 Witness Statements, Final Report to DGP Soon.
The Chandigarh Police have largely completed their investigation into the suicide case of Haryana IPS officer Y. Pooran Kumar. Statements from more than 50 witnesses have been recorded so far. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Chandigarh Police, which is investigating the case, has also recorded the statement of the then Rohtak SP, Narendra Bijrania.
In addition, the SIT has recorded the statements of the 14 IAS and IPS officers mentioned in the suicide note of the late IPS officer Y. Pooran Kumar. After completing the statements of all the relevant witnesses, the SIT has now begun the process of preparing its final report. The Chandigarh Police SIT will soon submit its investigation report to Chandigarh DGP Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda.
14 IAS-IPS officers included in the investigation
According to sources in the Chandigarh Police SIT, 14 IAS and IPS officers have been included in the investigation into the suicide case of IPS officer Y. Pooran Kumar so far. The SIT has also recorded the statements of more than 50 witnesses, most of whom are police personnel from Rohtak.
Based on the suicide note, the SIT has included Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, former Rohtak SP Narendra Bijrania, DGP Shatrujeet Kapoor, and all other officers mentioned in the note in the investigation.

According to police records, on October 6, a case was registered against Y. Pooran Kumar's gunman, Sushil Kumar, for demanding a bribe at the Sector-19 Urban Estate police station in Rohtak. Sushil Kumar was arrested on October 7.
The next day, on October 7, Y. Pooran Kumar committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence in Sector-11, Chandigarh. IPS officer Pooran Kumar had mentioned a total of 15 officers in his suicide note, accusing 11 of them of severely harassing him. 9-page suicide note written by the IPS officer: Y. Pooran Kumar wrote a 9-page final note before committing suicide. In 8 of these pages, he narrated the story of the harassment he faced. On the last page, he wrote a will addressed to his wife, Amneet P. Kumar, a senior IAS officer in Haryana.

Names of 3 IAS and 12 IPS officers mentioned in the note: This note was typed in English and signed with a green pen at the end. The final note is dated October 7th. The 15 names mentioned in this note include three IAS and 12 IPS officers. Four of these officers have retired, while 11 are still serving in senior positions in the Haryana government. Of the four retired officers, three have been appointed to important positions.
