Modi releases 21st installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi: More than ₹18,000 crore transferred to the accounts of 9 crore farmers

PM Modi released the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on Wednesday. He transferred over ₹18,000 crore to the accounts of over 90 million farmers across the country from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

He stated that ₹4 lakh crore has been transferred to the accounts of small farmers under this scheme so far. ₹10 lakh crore has also been provided to farmers. He spoke about promoting natural farming. Modi said that natural farming has doubled our agricultural exports.

Modi said that when he came on stage, many farmers were waving gamchhas (towels). He felt the air of Bihar had reached here before his arrival. Under the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, small farmers are given three installments of ₹2,000 each (totaling ₹6,000) per year. This amount is transferred to their bank accounts.

PM Modi said, "Natural farming is close to my heart."

Modi said that Coimbatore's textile sector is a major contributor to the country's economy. Natural farming is very close to my heart. I wish all the farmers of Tamil Nadu the best. Some are pursuing mechanical engineering and PhDs, some are farming while working at NASA, and others are training farmers.

He said that a year ago, the government launched "Natural Farmer" and "Natural Farming," which has attracted many farmers. Natural farming is being practiced on 35,000 hectares in Tamil Nadu alone. The PM said that multi-layer farming is being practiced in Karnataka and Kerala, where coconut, chili, and other crops are being grown simultaneously.

Some states have already received the 21st installment.

The central government has already released the 21st installment to some states. This installment was released to farmers in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh on September 26, 2025, as advance relief was provided to compensate for losses caused by floods and landslides in these states. Farmers in Jammu and Kashmir also received this installment on October 7, 2025.

The first installment is released between April and July, the second between August and November, and the third between December and March.

The 20th installment was released on August 2.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 20th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on August 2. Modi transferred ₹20.84 crore as the 20th installment to the accounts of 9.7 crore farmers from Varanasi.

The PM-KISAN scheme was launched in 2019.
The PM-KISAN scheme was launched in February 2019. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually, which is transferred in three installments directly to their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Currently, more than 100 million farmers across the country are benefiting from this scheme.
