ICSE & ISC Result 2026: Ludhiana Students Shine with 99% and Above; CISCE Skips Toppers' List Again

LUDHIANA – The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) declared the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) results today, April 30, 2026. Students from Ludhiana have once again proved their academic mettle, with a girl securing a stellar 99% in Class 10 and another student reaching a remarkable 99.2% in Class 12.

Despite the record-breaking scores, the Board has decided to stick to its policy of not releasing an official national merit list to reduce academic stress among students.

Highlights of the Ludhiana Results

The industrial hub of Punjab witnessed a wave of celebration as schools reported exceptional individual performances.

  • Class 10th (ICSE): A female student from a leading local school secured 99%, emerging as one of the top performers in the district.

  • Class 12th (ISC): Reflecting the high standards of the city's education, a student secured 99.2%, showcasing consistency across the Science and Commerce streams.

  • Pass Percentage: Early reports from Ludhiana schools suggest a near 100% pass rate, following the national trend where girls have once again slightly outperformed boys.

Why No Toppers' List?

For the second consecutive year, the CISCE has refrained from publishing a "Toppers' List." The council’s chairperson stated that this move is intended to:

  1. Reduce Competition: Lowering the pressure of "rank-chasing" among teenagers.

  2. Focus on Growth: Encouraging students to focus on their individual marks and subject-wise excellence rather than comparing themselves to a national rank.

  3. Merit Certificates: Instead of a list, the board will award Merit Certificates to those who have achieved exceptional marks in specific subjects.
