IAF Plane Crashes in Prayagraj Lake; Dramatic Video Shows Aircraft Struggling in Mid-Air.
An Indian Air Force training aircraft crashed in Prayagraj. The aircraft faltered in mid-air and plunged into a pond. Both pilots on board the two-seater aircraft are safe.
The accident occurred around 12:20 PM on Wednesday behind KP College. This area is in the heart of the city. There are schools and residential colonies near the pond. The Magh Mela grounds are 3 km away from the accident site. People from the surrounding area rushed to the spot immediately after the incident.
A teacher from KP College said, "The accident happened around 12 PM. We and the children were watching everything. Three people were rescued from the aircraft. After that, we informed the police. The administration team has now reached the spot."
NDRF and SDRF teams have arrived at the scene to rescue the aircraft. The plane crashed into a pond covered with water hyacinths. Due to this, no team has been able to reach the aircraft yet.
A student from KP College said, "We were standing and talking when suddenly there was a loud noise in the air, and then the plane fell rapidly. Later, we learned that it was an aircraft that had crashed."
Eyewitness Padam Singh said, "We were in the school campus when we heard a sound like a rocket. Hearing the sound, we ran and saw that some people were trapped in the marshy area. We jumped into the pond and pulled out two people. The aircraft had come from the direction of the fairgrounds."
Eyewitness Mohammad Shabir said, "There is a school nearby. The children were giving their practical exams when a bright red object appeared. Two minutes later, parachutes opened. The plane crashed into the pond. So far, two people have been rescued."

The pond where the aircraft crashed is covered with water hyacinths. Rescue teams have reached the aircraft. The army, fire brigade, SDRF (State Disaster Response Force), and NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) are on the scene. The rescue operation is ongoing.

PRO Defence Wing Commander Debartho Dhar stated, "The microlight aircraft experienced a technical malfunction while taking off from Bamrauli Air Force Station at 12:15 PM."
He added, "The two pilots, showing great presence of mind, landed the aircraft in a deserted area, thus preventing any loss of life or property to civilians. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident."
