वहीं अंबाला में सांसद रेखा शर्मा, फतेहाबाद में सांसद रामचद्र जांगड़ा, कुरूक्षेत्र में सांसद नवीन जिंदल, महेंद्रगढ़ में सांसद धर्मबीर,कैथल में सांसद किरण चौधरी ने तिरंगा फहराया। पंचकूला में विधायक शक्तिरानी शर्मा ने तिरंगा फहराया।

गणतंत्र दिवस के मौके पर प्रदेश के ओलिंपियन हरविंद्र सिंह और साहित्यकार डॉ. संतराम देशवाल को पद्मश्री सम्मान दिया जा रहा है। CID के चीफ सौरभ सिंह को विशिष्ट सेवाओं के लिए राष्ट्रपति पुलिस मेडल दिया जा रहा है।

भारत आज 76वां गणतंत्र दिवस मना रहा है। पंजाब में राज्यपाल गुलाब चंद कटारिया लुधियाना में और सीएम भगवंत मान आज पटियाला में तिरंगा फहराया। इस दौरान पंजाब के 24 पुलिस अधिकारियों को सीएम अवॉर्ड से सम्मानित किया जा रहा है। इनमें 5 को मुख्यमंत्री रक्षक पदक और 19 को मुख्यमंत्री उत्कृष्ट सेवा पदक से नवाजा जा रहा है। राज्यपाल गुलाब चंद कटारिया ने पंजाब सरकार की सिफारिश पर इन नामों की घोषणा की।

सीआईडी ​​यूनिट लुधियाना के सीनियर कॉन्स्टेबल गुरप्रीत सिंह को भी आज मुख्यमंत्री रक्षक पदक से सम्मानित किया जाएगा। 29 अगस्त, 2024 को उन्होंने एक व्यक्ति को सरहिंद नहर से बाहर निकालकर उसकी जान बचाई, जब वह अपनी नवविवाहित पत्नी से झगड़े के बाद आत्महत्या करने का प्रयास कर रहा था।

होशियारपुर के जयजों पुलिस चौकी के चार अधिकारियों एएसआई मन्ना सिंह, एएसआई राजिंदर सिंह, महिला सीनियर कॉन्स्टेबल कुलविंदर कौर और पंजाब होमगार्ड गुरदीप सिंह को "मुख्यमंत्री रक्षक पदक" से सम्मानित करने की घोषणा की है।

बीते दिन सीएम भगवंत मान के व्यस्त शेड्यूल के कारण ध्वजारोहण कार्यक्रम में अचानक से बदलाव किया गया था। जिसमें सीएम भगवंत मान अब पटियाला में ध्वजारोहण कर रहे हैं। स्पीकर कुलतार सिंह संधवां फरीदकोट में तिरंगा फहराएंगे, जबकि कैबिनेट मंत्री बरिंदर गोयल, जिन्हें पटियाला में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराना था, अब मोहाली के कार्यक्रम में शामिल होंगे।
