Malik claims the officers forcibly took his mobile phone, compelled him to unlock it, and scrutinized its contents. During the estimated six-hour detention, he was heavily interrogated and asked, "Who is funding you, and where does the money for the food arrangements come from?"

The petition further states that after the interrogation and alleged threats, the police dumped him at a desolate spot on the Dehradun Road. Malik eventually managed to hire a cab and return to Delhi.

Raids and Harassment of Family Members

Beyond his personal ordeal, Malik's plea highlights the alleged extrajudicial harassment of his family members. He claims that the Ghaziabad Police detained his father and conducted a raid at their residence.

The police action reportedly extended to Meerut, where officers arrived at the home of his married sister's in-laws. Her father-in-law and brother-in-law were allegedly taken into custody by the police before all family members were eventually released.
