The woman is currently battling for her life in a critical condition.

The Incident

The victim, whose identity is protected under Indian law, reportedly reached the limits of her endurance after multiple attempts to seek justice were ignored. Witnesses state the woman set herself ablaze in a desperate act of protest against the "apathy" of the authorities.

She was rushed to a nearby medical facility and later shifted to PGIMER, Chandigarh, as her condition deteriorated.
