Hooda said: Vande Mataram should not be made controversial
During the discussion on Vande Mataram in the assembly, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that Vande Mataram should not be made controversial. All our ancestors have made sacrifices for it. There can be no change in Vande Mataram now. It is our mother, and for a mother, all her sons are equal. "Nobody is opposing Vande Mataram."

Congress MLA Batra argues with BJP MLA Ghanshyam
Congress MLA BB Batra, during the discussion on Vande Mataram, said that it has been distorted in the House. The Congress party objects to some of the lines spoken by BJP MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora. Today we stand in a period when the nation is simultaneously commemorating several glorious historical events. We recently completed 75 years of our Constitution. Similarly, Sardar Patel's 150th birth anniversary is being celebrated across the country. For a month, we celebrated the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji."

Parliament witnessed uproar for the second consecutive day over the issue of SIR and allegations of vote rigging. The opposition insisted on a discussion on SIR and raised slogans of "Vote Chor-Gaddi Chhod" (vote thief, leave the throne). Due to this, the Lok Sabha was unable to function and proceedings had to be adjourned twice.

The Rajya Sabha also witnessed uproar in the morning. Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge demanded an immediate discussion on SIR. He stated that 12-13 people have lost their lives. This is an urgent matter.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju responded, "Please do not impose a timeline. We are discussing with the floor leaders of various opposition parties. A decision will be made soon."

On the first day of the session (December 1), the opposition created uproar in both houses over the issue of SIR and allegations of vote rigging. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated in the Rajya Sabha that the government is ready to discuss SIR and electoral reforms and appealed to the opposition not to impose any time limit on this.

According to sources, the opposition has argued that instead of using the term "SIR" in the discussion, the government could list the matter in the proceedings using the term "Electoral Reform" or some other name. The government is likely to agree to this argument and will present its position in the Business Advisory Committee.

10-Hour Discussion on Vande Mataram Possible

According to media reports, the government may hold a 10-hour discussion on Vande Mataram in the House to mark the 150th anniversary of the song. This debate could take place on Thursday or Friday. PM Modi himself may participate.

Several members of the ruling party proposed this discussion at the Rajya Sabha Business Advisory Committee meeting on September 30. No official statement has yet been issued.
