The court ordered that the accused be sent to 14 days of judicial custody.

It is noteworthy that on January 28, the court had sent Subhan Rangrez to three days of police remand. After the completion of the police remand period, the accused was presented in court again today, where, after the hearing, the court sent him to judicial custody.

This incident came to light when the youth gargled in the sacred pool of the Golden Temple, an act that Sikh organizations and devotees described as an insult to religious sentiments. Following this incident, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) filed a complaint with the police.
Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against the accused, Subhan Rangrez, at the E-Division police station in Amritsar.

Here's a breakdown of the entire controversy in 3 points...

Gargled in the sacred pool, posted video on Instagram: Subhan Rangrez, a resident of Delhi, came to the Golden Temple on January 13. He then sat by the sacred pool and gargled. He filled his mouth with water and spat it out. After that, he roamed around the Golden Temple complex and had a video shot by another person. He also pointed his finger towards the Golden Temple. He then posted this video on his Instagram account.

In the video, the youth called himself a Muslim lion: In the video, he called himself a Muslim lion. This video went viral. Sikh devotees strongly objected to it, saying that by spitting in the sacred pool, he had hurt their religious sentiments. He was also seen pointing his finger towards the Golden Temple. Following this, the SGPC strongly objected to the incident.

Caught by Nihangs in Ghaziabad on January 24: After 13 days, on January 24, Nihangs caught the youth and his companion in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and severely beat them. During this time, both youths were seen apologizing. The youth was then handed over to the Ghaziabad police. Meanwhile, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has also filed a complaint with the Amritsar police.

Apologized twice, but the manner of the apology raised questions.

First apology given with hands in pockets: Subhan Rangrez released a video on January 16th, saying, "Brothers, I went to Sri Darbar Sahib three days ago. I had wanted to go there since childhood. I was unaware of the customs there. I performed ablution with the water from the sarovar (holy pool), and by mistake, some water fell from my mouth into it. I apologize to all my Punjabi brothers. I will also apologize when I go there. I apologize to the entire Sikh community. I respect all religions." However, during this apology, his hands were in his pockets, which the Sikh community did not consider appropriate.

Second apology given with hands folded only once: Following this, the young man, Subhan Rangrez, released a new 17-second video on January 19th. In it, he said, "When I went to Darbar Sahib, I made a big mistake. This mistake was unintentional. I was not fully aware of the customs there, otherwise, I would never have made such a mistake. Please forgive me, considering me your son, your brother." During this apology, he folded his hands only once. He also wrote "Sorry from the heart" above the video.
