After withdrawing the land pooling policy, the Punjab government has now postponed the proposal to increase the collector rate. With the aim of increasing revenue, the government was preparing to increase the collector rate and reports had also come from the districts for this, but to avoid resentment among the people, it has been postponed for the time being.

Collector rates have been increased in 12 districts

The government has set a revenue target of Rs 7,000 crore from stamp and registration this year, which is more than last year's Rs 5,750 crore. The areas in which there was a proposal to increase the collector rate also include Ludhiana and Bathinda. Earlier, the government has increased the collector rate by 5% to 50% in 12 districts Fazilka, Barnala, Amritsar, Pathankot, Rupnagar, Nawanshahr, Sangrur, Moga, Kapurthala, Malerkotla, Jalandhar and Faridkot, in which the increase has been more in some areas of Amritsar.

Earlier the rates used to be implemented in April
The collector rates of land are decided by the district administration. These vary in different parts of the district. These are according to the market price of the land. Land is the minimum price at which a real estate property is sold to the buyer.

Although property rates used to be implemented in Punjab in early April, but since the Corona period, there have been some changes in it. Many times the rates were not increased at all.
