Late on the night of January 6th, around 1 AM, an encroachment removal operation was carried out on land adjacent to a mosque and cemetery near Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Acting on orders from the Delhi High Court, the MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) used 17 bulldozers to demolish a banquet hall, a diagnostic center, and shops built on the land.

When the operation was being carried out near the Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque at Turkman Gate, a crowd pelted stones at the workers and police. The crowd broke through barricades to try and stop the demolition, but the police dispersed them using tear gas.

Joint Commissioner of Police, Central Range, Madhur Verma, said that the situation is under control. The entire area has been divided into nine zones, with an ADCP-level officer in charge of each zone. Adequate police force has been deployed in sensitive areas. Those involved in the stone-pelting will be identified through video footage.

DCP Nidhin Valsan said that the MCD acted on the orders of the Delhi High Court, and the operation is still ongoing. Four to five officers sustained minor injuries in the stone-pelting. Here's the full story:

The management committee of the Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque challenged the Delhi MCD's order of December 22, 2025, in the Delhi High Court. The order stated that the structures built on 0.195 acres of land outside the mosque were illegal and would be removed.

The MCD claims that no documents proving ownership or legal possession of the additional land were presented. This MCD order was issued based on the directions of a High Court division bench on November 12, 2025.

The division bench's order directed the removal of approximately 38,940 square feet of encroachment near Ramlila Ground at Turkman Gate, including roads, footpaths, a banquet hall, parking, and a private clinic.

The mosque committee claims that the land is Waqf property and that they pay lease rent to the Waqf Board. They stated that they do not object to the removal of encroachments. The banquet hall and clinic have already ceased operations. Their main objection concerns the cemetery. January 6: High Court Issues Notice

On January 6, the Delhi High Court issued a notice on a petition challenging the order to remove encroachments (a banquet hall and a diagnostic center) from land adjacent to a mosque and cemetery.

The court sought responses from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the Ministry of Urban Development, the Delhi Development Authority, the Delhi Waqf Board, and other departments involved in the case.

Justice Amit Bansal stated that the matter was maintainable and directed all parties to file their replies within four weeks. The next hearing is scheduled for April 22.

Amidst fears of terrorist infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir, security agencies have taken a major step. The Army, BSF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police are conducting a joint search operation to thwart attempts by terrorists to infiltrate border areas. This search operation is being carried out in more than 80 villages in the border region.

According to officials, intelligence inputs indicated that terrorist organizations might try to infiltrate by taking advantage of the dense fog, cold weather, and difficult terrain. This large-scale operation was launched in light of these inputs.

According to reports, the operation began on Sunday in the forests of Majalta after reports emerged that two terrorists had taken food from a house and fled into the nearby forest. The terrorists had gone to the house of Mangtu Ram in Chhore Motu village around 6:30 PM.

Areas where searching is underway...

Security personnel are conducting house-to-house searches in sensitive border districts like Jammu, Samba, Kathua, and Rajouri.
Searches are being conducted in areas such as Babbar Nala, Palora, Treyal, Mansar, and Chilla Danga in Samba.
Security forces have also intensified search operations in Pragwal and surrounding villages of the Akhnoor sector.
In Jammu district, searches are underway in several villages including Pansar, Maniyari, Paharpur, Tappan, Marid, Tarnah Nala, Bain Nala, and Kishanpur Kandi.

Sniffer dogs and metal detectors were deployed in the densely populated areas of Amirakadal and Maharaja Bazaar to search for explosives, weapons, and ammunition.
Extensive operations are underway in Thanamandi and Manjakot in Rajouri.
Searching extended to Lal Chowk in view of Republic Day

Anti-sabotage checks and searches were conducted in areas near Bakshi Stadium, the main venue for Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations in Kashmir. The famous clock tower at Lal Chowk, which has become a tourist hub in the last four years, is also a short distance from Amirakadal, and searches were conducted there as well. BSF claims 72 terrorist launch pads reactivated

Last month, a BSF official revealed that despite suffering losses after India's Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has once again reactivated approximately 72 terrorist launch pads opposite the Jammu region. Of these, 12 launch pads are located near the international border in the Sialkot and Zafarwal sectors, while about 60 are reportedly active near the Line of Control (LoC). Following this, security has been further intensified along the border.

Why is the Jammu region becoming a route for infiltration?

Most infiltration routes into the Kashmir Valley have been sealed due to fencing and modern surveillance. 1. संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा (गैर राजनीतिक) और किसान मजदूर मोर्चा की ओर से 26 जनवरी को निकाले जाने वाले ट्रैक्टर मार्च की भी तैयारियां चल रही हैं। देशभर में दोपहर 12 से 1.30 बजे तक किसानों के ट्रैक्टर सड़कों पर रहेंगे।

देशभर में शॉपिंग मॉल, साइलो, टोल प्लाजा, भाजपा नेताओं के दफ्तरों और घरों के सामने से यह मार्च निकाला जाएगा। इसके लिए सभी किसान नेता अपने क्षेत्र में सक्रिय रहेंगे। सभी नेताओं की सूची तैयार की जा रही है। इसके बाद दिल्ली मार्च को लेकर किसानों की एक अहम बैठक भी होगी।

2. 28 जनवरी को दातासिंहवाला-खनौरी किसान मोर्चा में अखंड पाठ शुरू होगा और 30 जनवरी को भोग डाला जाएगा। इसमें बड़ी संख्या में किसानों से मोर्चे पर पहुंचने की अपील की गई है।

जबकि 14 फरवरी को चंडीगढ़ में किसानों और केंद्र सरकार के अधिकारियों के बीच बैठक होगी। जिसमें किसानों के मुद्दे पर चर्चा की जाएगी।
