As part of the election campaign for the assembly polls in five states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Assam on Monday. He is scheduled to hold three rallies today. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also arrived in Puducherry. Speaking in Lawspet, he alleged that the Puducherry government takes a 30% commission on all contracts and has encroached upon temple lands. He promised that a Congress government in the state would provide a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,000 to unemployed youth and offer free bus services to women.

**PM Modi Says: The People of Assam Must Remain Extremely Cautious and Vigilant**
"You must remain extremely cautious and vigilant. The Congress is openly siding with infiltrators. Furthermore, the Congress is now even opposing the actions being taken against these illegal encroachments." The PM stated that the Congress party is proposing to enact a law in Assam under which even those who use the term "infiltrator" could face imprisonment. Is such a law acceptable to you? The Congress would, through the very framework of the law, declare infiltrators to be victims. Consequently, the indigenous majority—the children of this land—would live under the constant threat of incarceration. In every interview and speech, Congress leaders are openly discussing their intent to enact such a law.

**PM Says: Congress Has Given Nothing to the Nation's Tribals**

PM Modi asserted that the Congress party has contributed absolutely nothing to the tribal communities of the country. He asked the audience to recall the events that unfolded in the Bodo region—the number of lives lost and the countless futures shattered—reminding them that they had witnessed these tragedies firsthand. He alleged that the Congress would sign agreements on paper, only to betray the tribal people on the ground.

He further stated that his government has prioritized the restoration of local peace. That is precisely why a celebration of peace is being held here today. Efforts are currently underway to integrate 10,000 such youths—who have laid down their arms—back into the mainstream of society. For the sake of enduring peace in Assam, it is absolutely essential to keep the Congress party out of the state.

**Himanta Alleges: Congress Leaders Sourcing Content from Pakistani Social Media Groups**

On Monday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma alleged that Congress leaders Pawan Khera and Gaurav Gogoi obtained the material they used during their press conference from Pakistani social media groups.

Speaking to the media in Guwahati, Himanta remarked, "Pakistan's interest in the Assam elections—and in supporting the Congress party—has evidently intensified. Over the past ten days alone, Pakistani television channels have aired 11 talk shows dedicated to this subject."

Himanta further alleged, "The underlying conclusion of every single one of these talk shows is that the Congress party *must* win. Yesterday's press conference has served to make the Congress party's connection with Pakistan even more glaringly obvious."

This controversy stems from allegations leveled by Pawan Khera, who claimed on Sunday that Chief Minister Sarma's wife, Rinki Bhuyan Sarma, possesses multiple passports and owns undisclosed business interests abroad. Assam CM's Press Conference: 5 Key Points

Generally, when you raise an issue before the public using forged documents, Sections 420 and 468 of the IPC apply. Naturally, corresponding provisions for this also exist within the new BNS.

PM Says: We Raised Paddy Prices; Farmers Are Happy Today

The Prime Minister remarked that Congress governments remain in power in only a handful of states across the country—so few, in fact, that one could count them on the fingers of a single hand. In these few remaining states, the Congress party never presents its "report card" to the public. In contrast, the BJP transparently informs the public about the specific measures it has undertaken to serve the people.

Parliament witnessed uproar for the second consecutive day over the issue of SIR and allegations of vote rigging. The opposition insisted on a discussion on SIR and raised slogans of "Vote Chor-Gaddi Chhod" (vote thief, leave the throne). Due to this, the Lok Sabha was unable to function and proceedings had to be adjourned twice.

The Rajya Sabha also witnessed uproar in the morning. Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge demanded an immediate discussion on SIR. He stated that 12-13 people have lost their lives. This is an urgent matter.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju responded, "Please do not impose a timeline. We are discussing with the floor leaders of various opposition parties. A decision will be made soon."

On the first day of the session (December 1), the opposition created uproar in both houses over the issue of SIR and allegations of vote rigging. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated in the Rajya Sabha that the government is ready to discuss SIR and electoral reforms and appealed to the opposition not to impose any time limit on this.

According to sources, the opposition has argued that instead of using the term "SIR" in the discussion, the government could list the matter in the proceedings using the term "Electoral Reform" or some other name. The government is likely to agree to this argument and will present its position in the Business Advisory Committee.

10-Hour Discussion on Vande Mataram Possible

According to media reports, the government may hold a 10-hour discussion on Vande Mataram in the House to mark the 150th anniversary of the song. This debate could take place on Thursday or Friday. PM Modi himself may participate.

Several members of the ruling party proposed this discussion at the Rajya Sabha Business Advisory Committee meeting on September 30. No official statement has yet been issued.

Lok Sabha Speaker Calls Meeting
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla called a meeting of party leaders on Tuesday to break the ongoing deadlock in the House over the opposition's demand for a discussion on SIR. The Speaker's meeting comes after repeated uproar in the Lok Sabha over the issue. Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju met with floor leaders of political parties but refused to give a timeframe for a discussion on electoral reforms. He argued that the opposition cannot impose its conditions on the government. The government is keen to discuss the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram and has allocated 10 hours for the topic. Speaker Om Birla has called an all-party meeting at 3 pm to break the deadlock. This meeting will be held in the Speaker's chamber.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won the Tarn Taran Assembly seat in Punjab. AAP candidate Harmeet Sandhu won by 12,091 votes, garnering a total of 42,649 votes. Harmeet Sandhu has been elected MLA from here for the fourth time.

Akali Dal candidate Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa came in second, with 30,558 votes. Akali Dal-Waris Punjab De candidate Mandeep Singh Khalsa came in third, with 19,620 votes. The Congress came in fourth, with 15,078 votes. The BJP candidate failed to even reach the 10,000 mark, garnering 6,239 votes.

Regarding this victory, Arvind Kejriwal said that this historic victory in the Tarn Taran by-election clearly demonstrates that the people of Punjab value the politics of work and the honest leadership of Bhagwant Mann. Punjab has once again reposed its trust in the AAP. This victory is the victory of the people, and of every hardworking worker.

Counting began at 8 a.m. at the International College of Nursing in Tarn Taran. Ballot papers were counted first, followed by the counting of votes through EVM machines. A total of 16 rounds were conducted.

Akali Dal candidate leaves counting center

Akali Dal candidate Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa took the lead in the first three rounds. Sukhwinder had a lead of 625 votes in the first round. This lead increased to 1,480 in the second round. However, in the next round, i.e., the third round, her lead narrowed to 374. After this, she slipped to second place in the fourth round.

AAP's Harmeet Sandhu's lead steadily increased from the fourth round onwards. Ultimately, this lead exceeded 10,000. Meanwhile, Sukhwinder failed to come close to her even once. Seeing the growing lead, Sukhwinder Randhawa left the counting center and went home.

Amritpal's party candidate finished third.

Mandeep Singh Khalsa, a member of the pro-Khalistan party of the Akali Dal-Waris Punjab, came in third. Mandeep was in fourth place for the first seven rounds, but in the eighth round, he overtook the Congress.

Former Home Minister P. Chidambaram had raised questions on Pakistani terrorists being held responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack and said what is the proof that the attackers came from Pakistan. Former Home Minister P. Chidambaram had said in an interview that it is possible that the people who attacked Pahalgam were from our country, why are we thinking that they came from Pakistan. His statement created a ruckus, then he posted on the social media platform X and alleged that parts of his entire interview were being combined and spread in a wrong way.

On the second day of the monsoon session of Parliament, there was a lot of uproar in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. The opposition protested inside and outside the House against the scrutiny of voters' list in Bihar, Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The MPs also demanded the PM's reply and discussion in the House on issues like Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor.

Earlier, the Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 12 noon just minutes after it began. The Lok Sabha proceedings resumed amid the uproar of the opposition, but were adjourned till 2 pm shortly after.

Many leaders, including Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, stood on the steps of the Parliament House at Makar Dwar and protested against Bihar SIR. Similarly, opposition MPs in Rajya Sabha raised slogans demanding a discussion on the scrutiny of voters' list in Bihar.

Due to the uproar by the opposition, the proceedings of both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned till July 23. The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will meet again on Wednesday at 11 am. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government is ready for discussion, but the opposition is wasting public money by protesting.

Before the second day's proceedings, a meeting was held between Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Parliament House. बिहार में मतदाता सूची के विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण (एसआईआर) के समय से लेकर दस्तावेज़ों की सूची से आधार कार्ड को बाहर करने तक, सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने गुरुवार को भारत के चुनाव आयोग से कुछ तीखे सवाल पूछे।

ये सवाल तब उठे जब शीर्ष अदालत मतदाता सूची के संशोधन को चुनौती देने वाली कई याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई कर रही थी और इसे "मनमाना" और "असंवैधानिक" बताया था।

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग से जवाब देने के लिए कुछ प्रमुख मुद्दे उठाए:

"बिहार में एसआईआर को नवंबर में होने वाले विधानसभा चुनावों से क्यों जोड़ा जा रहा है? यह चुनावों से इतर क्यों नहीं हो सकता?"
"बिहार में मतदाता सूची के विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण से आधार को क्यों बाहर रखा गया है?" सुप्रीम कोर्ट की पीठ ने सवाल किया, जिस पर चुनाव आयोग ने कहा, "आधार कार्ड नागरिकता का प्रमाण नहीं है।"
"अगर आपको बिहार में मतदाता सूची के एसआईआर के तहत नागरिकता की जाँच करनी है, तो आपको पहले ही कदम उठाना चाहिए था; अब थोड़ी देर हो चुकी है।"

इस प्रावधान को लेकर आलोचनाओं का सामना कर रहे चुनाव आयोग ने सर्वोच्च न्यायालय को बताया कि मतदाताओं के नामों को शामिल करने या बाहर करने पर विचार करने के लिए मतदाता सूचियों में समय-समय पर संशोधन किया जाना ज़रूरी है।

एक याचिकाकर्ता की ओर से वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता गोपाल शंकरनारायणन ने कहा कि जनप्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम के तहत मतदाता सूचियों में संशोधन की अनुमति दी जा सकती है।

यह सुनवाई बिहार में अक्टूबर-नवंबर में होने वाले विधानसभा चुनावों से पहले एसआईआर प्रावधान को चुनौती देने वाली 10 याचिकाओं के बाद हुई। चुनाव आयोग ने कहा है कि मतदाता सूची संशोधन के लिए मतदाता पहचान पत्र और आधार कार्ड पर विचार नहीं किया जा रहा है।

इस कदम से विपक्ष में आक्रोश फैल गया था और तृणमूल कांग्रेस की सांसद महुआ मोइत्रा और कुछ राजनीतिक दल भी चुनाव आयोग की कार्रवाई को चुनौती देने वाले याचिकाकर्ताओं में शामिल थे।

चुनाव आयोग का कहना है कि वर्तमान संशोधन संवैधानिक प्रावधानों के अनुरूप है और पिछली बार 2003 में इसी तरह का एसआईआर किया गया था। हालाँकि, लाइव लॉ ने याचिकाकर्ताओं के तर्क के हवाले से कहा कि "दिशानिर्देश कुछ खास वर्ग के लोगों को संशोधन प्रक्रिया के दायरे में नहीं लाते हैं। सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि इस प्रक्रिया का कोई कानूनी आधार नहीं है।"

हालांकि सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने इस बात पर सहमति जताई कि मतदाता सूची में केवल नागरिकों के नाम शामिल करने के लिए "निर्वाचक नामावली को शुद्ध करने" में कुछ भी गलत नहीं है, लेकिन उसने बिहार चुनाव से ठीक पहले इस कदम के समय पर सवाल उठाया।

पंजाब में लुधियाना की वेस्ट विधानसभा सीट पर हुए उपचुनाव में आम आदमी पार्टी (AAP) ने जीत दर्ज कर ली है। AAP उम्मीदवार संजीव अरोड़ा ने कांग्रेस के भारत भूषण आशु को 10637 वोटों से हराया।

वहीं, तीसरे नंबर पर BJP के जीवन गुप्ता और चौथे नंबर पर शिरोमणि अकाली दल के परउपकार सिंह घुम्मन रहे। ये काउंटिंग खालसा कॉलेज फॉर विमेन के ऑडिटोरियम में हुई। सबसे पहले पोस्टल बैलेट गिने गए। इसके बाद EVM से वोटों की गिनती हुई।

AAP की लीड 3 राउंड तक लगातार बढ़ी, लेकिन चौथे, पांचवें और छठे राउंड में कम हुई। तीनों राउंड में कांग्रेस उम्मीदवार को सबसे ज्यादा वोट मिले। 3 राउंड में AAP की लीड घटने के बाद 7वें से फिर बढ़ना शुरू हुई।

इस सीट पर उपचुनाव के लिए 19 जून को वोटिंग हुई थी, जिसमें 51.33% मतदाताओं ने मतदान किया। इस सीट से 2022 में AAP के उम्मीदवार गुरप्रीत गोगी जीते थे। हालांकि, कुछ महीने पहले उनकी गोली लगने से मौत हो गई। इसके बाद यहां उपचुनाव हुआ।

संजीव अरोड़ा राज्यसभा सांसद हैं। अब विधायक बनने के बाद उन्हें राज्यसभा सीट छोड़नी होगी। ऐसे में चर्चा है कि उनकी जगह AAP सुप्रीमो और दिल्ली के पूर्व CM अरविंद केजरीवाल राज्यसभा जा सकते हैं

लुधियाना उपचुनाव में बीजेपी को मिली हार के बाद भाजपा नेता अनिल सरीन ने कहा- आम आदमी पार्टी के जो उम्मीदवार जीते हैं, उन्हें मैं बधाई देता हूं। साथ ही लुधियाना की जनता को भी मेरा धन्यवाद, जिन्होंने हमारे उम्मीदवार को इतने वोट दिए। वोट प्रतिशत काफी कम रहा, इससे बीजेपी को काफी नुकसान हुआ है। साथ ही सरीन ने आरोप लगाया कि चुनाव को प्रभावित करने की कोशिश तो की गई, मगर फिर भी हम लड़े।

लुधियाना की वेस्ट सीट पर काउंटिंग शुरू होने से पहले आम आदमी पार्टी (AAP) के उम्मीदवार संजीव अरोड़ा ने संगला शिवालय मंदिर में परिवार के साथ माथा टेका।

दिल्ली में विधानसभा चुनाव की वोटिंग 5 फरवरी को हो गई है, और 8 फ़रवरी को नतीजा घोषित किया जाएगा , लेकिन भाजपा-AAP अभी भी एक दूसरे पर आरोप लगा रहे हैं। AAP सांसद संजय सिंह ने गुरुवार को दावा किया कि AAP के 7 विधायकों को पार्टी छोड़ने और भाजपा में शामिल होने के लिए 15-15 करोड़ का ऑफर दिया गया है।

उन्होंने कहा- हमने विधायकों से कहा है कि वे इस तरह की ऑडियो कॉल रिकॉर्ड करें और इसकी शिकायत करें। अगर कोई उनसे मिलता है, तो उसे छिपे हुए कैमरे से इसका वीडियो बनाना चाहिए।

संजय सिंह ने आगे कहा कि भाजपा ने मतगणना से पहले ही अपनी हार स्वीकार कर ली है। देश के बाकी हिस्सों की तरह भाजपा ने दिल्ली में भी पार्टियों को तोड़ने की राजनीति शुरू कर दी है।

दिल्ली विधानसभा की 70 सीटों के लिए बुधवार को 60.44% लोगों ने मतदान किया। शाम को वोटिंग खत्म होने के बाद 11 एग्जिट पोल आए। 9 में भाजपा को बहुमत तो 2 में आम आदमी पार्टी (AAP) की सरकार बनने का अनुमान है।

पोल ऑफ पोल्स में भाजपा को 39, AAP को 30 और कांग्रेस को एक सीट मिलती दिख रही है। JVC और पोल डायरी के एग्जिट पोल में अन्य को भी 1-1 सीट मिलने के आसार हैं।

दिल्ली विधानसभा की 70 सीटों के लिए बुधवार को वोटिंग हुई। इस बार 60.44% मतदान हुआ है। सबसे ज्यादा 66.25% वोटिंग नॉर्थ-ईस्ट दिल्ली में और सबसे कम 56.31% वोटिंग साउथ-ईस्ट दिल्ली में हुई। यह भाजपा सांसद मनोज तिवारी का संसदीय क्षेत्र है। पिछले 12 सालों में यह सबसे कम वोटिंग है।

प्रयागराज के संगम तट पर मंगलवार-बुधवार की रात करीब डेढ़ बजे भगदड़ मच गई। हादसे में अब तक 20 से ज्यादा लोगों की मौत होने की खबर है। 50 से ज्यादा श्रद्धालु घायल हैं। रिपोर्टर के मुताबिक- मेडिकल कॉलेज में पहले 14 शव पोस्टमॉर्टम के लिए लाए गए। बाद में एंबुलेंस से कुछ और शवों को मेला क्षेत्र से लाया गया।

कांग्रेस ने कहा है कि अधूरे इंतजाम, वीआईपी मूवमेंट और वीआईपी द्वारा खुद को बढ़ावा देने के कारण महाकुंभ में भगदड़ मची और कई लोगों की जान चली गई।
 कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे ने एक बयान में श्रद्धालुओं की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए समागम स्थल पर वीआईपी मूवमेंट पर अंकुश लगाने की मांग की। खड़गे ने एक्स पर एक पोस्ट में कहा, "महाकुंभ के दौरान तीर्थराज संगम के तट पर मची भगदड़ में कई लोगों की जान जाने और कई के घायल होने की खबर दिल दहलाने वाली है।" खड़गे ने कहा, "श्रद्धालुओं के परिवारों के प्रति हमारी गहरी संवेदना है और हम घायलों के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की प्रार्थना करते हैं।"

कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष ने कहा, "अधूरे इंतजाम, वीआईपी मूवमेंट, प्रबंधन और कुप्रबंधन से अधिक खुद को बढ़ावा देने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करना इसके लिए जिम्मेदार है। हजारों करोड़ रुपये खर्च करने के बावजूद इस तरह की व्यवस्था निंदनीय है।" उन्होंने कहा कि अभी कई महत्वपूर्ण अनुष्ठान स्नान बाकी हैं। खड़गे ने अपने पोस्ट में लिखा है कि केंद्र और राज्य सरकारों को अब जाग जाना चाहिए और सुनिश्चित करना चाहिए कि भविष्य में ऐसी अप्रिय घटनाएं न हों।

 कांग्रेस नेता ने कहा, "श्रद्धालुओं के रहने, खाने, प्राथमिक उपचार और आवाजाही की व्यवस्था बढ़ाई जानी चाहिए और वीआईपी की आवाजाही पर रोक लगाई जानी चाहिए। हमारे साधु-संत भी यही चाहते हैं।" उन्होंने कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं से पीड़ितों और उनके परिवारों की हर संभव मदद करने का आग्रह किया। महाकुंभ के दौरान बुधवार को संगम पर "भगदड़ जैसी" स्थिति पैदा होने के बाद कई लोगों के हताहत होने की आशंका है, क्योंकि मौनी अमावस्या पर लाखों तीर्थयात्री पवित्र स्नान के लिए उमड़ पड़े थे। 

गृह मंत्री अमित शाह, रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह और यूपी के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ उन वीआईपी लोगों में शामिल हैं, जिनकी तस्वीरें पहले महाकुंभ में स्नान करते हुए खींची गई हैं। खड़गे ने हाल ही में टिप्पणी की थी कि महाकुंभ के दौरान गंगा नदी में डुबकी लगाने से देश में भूख की समस्या का समाधान नहीं होगा और उन्होंने कहा कि भाजपा नेता हिंदुओं की धार्मिक भावनाओं का फायदा उठाने के लिए अनुष्ठान स्नान के लिए कतार में खड़े हो रहे हैं।

नई दिल्ली विधानसभा सीट से अरविंद केजरीवाल के खिलाफ चुनाव लड़ रहे प्रवेश वर्मा ने कहा कि हजारों की संख्या में दिल्ली में पंजाब के नंबर की गाड़ियां घूम रही हैं। यहां 26 जनवरी मनाने की तैयारी चल रही है। यहां ऐसा कौन-सा काम हो रहा है, जिससे हमारी सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को खतरा हो सकता है।

दिल्ली की CM आतिशी ने कहा, 'विधानसभा क्षेत्र के हर इलाकों में बड़ी संख्या में भाजपा कार्यकर्ता और रमेश बिधूड़ी के भतीजे होने का दावा करने वाले लोग AAP कार्यकर्ताओं को डरा रहे हैं। रमेश बिधूड़ी ने AAP कार्यकर्ता दीपा को फोन करके उन्हें भाजपा में वापस आने को कहा।

जब उन्होंने कहा कि वह अब AAP में हैं और आतिशी के साथ हैं, तो बिधूड़ी ने कहा कि यह आतंकवादियों की पार्टी है और 8 फरवरी के बाद आतिशी जेल जाएगी। भाजपा उम्मीदवार रमेश बिधूड़ी, उनके कार्यकर्ता और भतीजे आज चुनाव नहीं लड़ रहे हैं, वे पूरे इलाके में सिर्फ गुंडागर्दी फैला रहे हैं। हम चुनाव आयोग से शिकायत करने जा रहे हैं कि रमेश बिधूड़ी, उनके कार्यकर्ताओं और भतीजों पर एफआईआर दर्ज की जाए।

दिल्ली के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने शुक्रवार सुबह पीएम मोदी को चिट्ठी लिखी। इसमें उन्होंने स्टूडेंट को दिल्ली मेट्रो के किराए में 50% छूट देने मांग की। केजरीवाल ने कहा- दिल्ली सरकार की ओर से बस में स्टूडेंट की फ्री यात्रा की प्लानिंग हम कर रहे हैं, लेकिन दिल्ली मेट्रो प्रोजेक्ट में दिल्ली सरकार और केंद्र सरकार की 50-50 सहयोग करती है। इसलिए किराए में छूट देने के लिए केंद्र का सहयोग जरूरी है।

संजय सिंह ने कहा कि भाजपा शीशमहल बनाने का आरोप लगा रही है। हम इन आरोपों की सच्चाई बताना चाहते हैं, इसलिए यहां पहुंचे हैं। हम जब यहां आए तो भाजपा वाले दिखाई नहीं दे रहे। दिल्ली पुलिस हमें अंदर जाने से रोक रही है।

पीएम आवास की ओर रवाना होने से पहले सौरभ भारद्वाज ने कहा कि भाजपा कह रही है कि सीएम हाउस में सोने का टॉयलेट लगाया गया है। हम सोने का टॉयलेट ढूंढने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। हम पीएम आवास जा रहे हैं।
