A Pakistani court has sentenced Amritpal Singh, the son of a farmer who went missing from Khaire village in Jalalabad, Fazilka district of Punjab. Amritpal has been sentenced to one month's imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 under the Foreigners Act 1946.

In case of not paying the fine, he will have to stay in jail for an additional 15 days. He had mistakenly crossed the border of Pakistan. Currently, Amritpal is lodged in Islamabad jail.

Will be sent back to India after completion of sentence

This decision has brought some relief to his family, as the court has directed the concerned authorities to make necessary arrangements to deport him to India after completion of sentence.

Amritpal was missing since June 21

Amritpal's father Jagraj Singh said that his son had crossed the Indo-Pak border on June 21 to do farming, but did not return till evening.

Family's complaint and investigation of footprints revealed that Amritpal had mistakenly crossed the border of Pakistan. At first Pakistani officials denied his presence in Pakistan, but later it was confirmed that he was present in a police station.

Flag meetings were held three times

Flag meetings have been held three times between BSF and Pak Rangers. Now with the court's decision, the family is hopeful that Amritpal will be brought to India soon. Amritpal also has a four-month-old son and he is the only son in the family.

सतविंदर सिंह ने बताया कि उनका तीन वर्षीय बच्चा जलालाबाद के निजी स्कूलों में पढ़ता था l जिसे वैन चालक स्कूल से घर छोड़ने के लिए जा रहा था l रास्ते में जिन बच्चों का घर आया तो उन्हें उतारा गया और स्कूल वैन चालक ने वैन का गेट अच्छे से बंद नहीं किया l

रास्ते में मोड़ आने पर अचानक वैन का गेट खुलने से पास में बैठा उनका बच्चा बाहर गिर गया और वैन का टायर उसके ऊपर से गुजर गया l घायल बच्चे को तुरंत नजदीकी अस्पताल में दाखिल करवाया गया l जहां पर इलाज दौरान उनके बच्चे की मौत हो गई l हालांकि उनका कहना है कि वैन चालक फरार है l जिसके खिलाफ उनके द्वारा सख्त कार्रवाई की मांग की जा रही है, ताकि पीड़ित परिवार को इंसाफ मिल सके l
