According to the police, when the cleaning lady arrived in the morning and knocked on the door, no one answered.

The cleaning lady called the tenant living upstairs. The tenant then called the homeowner. The phone inside the house kept ringing, but no one answered or opened the door.

This made them suspect a gas leak. However, when they went downstairs and broke down the door, they discovered that everyone was dead. Besides Amandeep, the bodies of his wife Jasveer Kaur, and daughters Manveer (10) and Parneet (6) were found. The police have also recovered a pistol from the scene.

SSP Bhupinder Singh said that the entire matter is being investigated. The police are checking if there is any other angle to the case. The incident took place in Harman Nagar.

Read what the neighbor said in 3 points...

Door broken down, bodies found inside: Amandeep's neighbor Karanjit Singh said that when the cleaning lady came in the morning, the gate wasn't opened from their side. The tenants living upstairs then told me that Amandeep Singh wasn't opening the gate. We thought there might have been a gas leak. We broke down the door and found the bodies inside.
We went for a walk together last evening too: Karanjit said that the family was very friendly. They had gone for a walk together on Wednesday night. They were talking. But at 11 am, it was discovered that this incident had happened. Karanjit said that we never saw them troubled. We never saw any fighting or arguments in the family. No one can believe it. The police are also trying to find out the reason.

Now read what Ferozepur SSP Bhupinder Singh said...

CCTV cameras are installed in the house, they will reveal the truth: The SSP said that neighbor Karanjit opened the door of the house in the morning. He saw a pistol in Amandeep Singh's hand. We are investigating the entire matter. Amandeep Singh worked in finance and also built and sold houses.

The house was locked from the inside, we are checking the CCTV footage: The SSP said that there are CCTV cameras inside, which are being examined. The fact that the house was locked from the inside will help reveal the truth about the incident. Everyone was shot once.

Amandeep lived separately from his parents.

Amandeep was about to open a salon soon. The work was almost complete. He lived separately from his parents. His parents live in a different house in the same city.

The launch was inaugurated by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

During the event, Arvind Kejriwal said that this project was started with pure intentions. This kind of initiative has not been undertaken in any other state, not just Punjab. It's not that drugs are only sold in Punjab; they are sold in Haryana, Delhi, and Gujarat as well. But the governments there have done nothing.

He said that before us, the Akali Dal government was in power. During their time, drugs reached every household. Their leaders started supplying drugs. Then Captain Amarinder Singh's government came. He took an oath to eradicate drugs in 60 days, but he couldn't do anything.

People tried to scare us, but we weren't afraid.
Kejriwal said that when we had to start the war against drugs, many people tried to scare us, saying that these are very dangerous people. They can harm your families. But we weren't afraid because we had made a promise to our people.

He said that action was taken in your villages, constituencies, and areas. The drug traffickers had built houses, mansions, and buildings. Bulldozer action was taken against them. The person whose name people were afraid to even utter has been caught and put in jail. People didn't have the courage to even take his name. People, the administration, and the police were afraid of him. It was the courage of the Aam Aadmi Party that put him behind bars.

The Chief Minister said that whoever comes here starts criticizing Punjab. I went to the North Zone Culture meeting. In front of Home Minister Amit Shah, people from Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, every state, were saying that Punjab is our elder brother, give us this and that. I said, "You keep looting the elder brother." I said that we don't have coal or oil, otherwise they would have demanded a share in that too. I said that we have nothing, not even water.

The Akali Dal would only offer jobs cleaning up dinosaur droppings.
He said that in four years, 61,000 jobs have been given on the basis of merit. Our intentions are clear. Jobs are being given according to qualifications. The Akali Dal doesn't give jobs at all. The Akali Dal would only offer jobs like cleaning up dinosaur droppings.

We will fight this battle like a war.
CM Bhagwant Mann said that we will protect your ideology. I'm not saying that we have completely eradicated drug abuse in Phase 1. But it has been significantly reduced. We haven't reached our destination yet. We are here today to plan the second phase of this campaign. We will fight this battle like a war. We have to save our country, our community, our farmers, and Punjab. This is a vibrant Punjab.

Some hateful people in the country say that a bouquet should only have one type of flower. But that's not possible. Bengal has a different system. The South has a different culture. We stand for your rights, whether it's the BBMB issue or the university issue. In four years, we have given 61,000 jobs based on merit. Our intentions are clear. Jobs are being given according to qualifications.

I am talking about waiving the loans and electricity bills of farmers and traders in Punjab, while they are talking about forgiving Giani Gurbachan Singh.

Let them have their way; I am leaving this to the people's court." This appearance comes after Bhullar's five-day remand ended. His middleman, Krishanu, was also brought along with him. The court's remand arguments have concluded.

The CBI requested another five days of remand. The DIG's lawyer argued that the CBI cannot enter Punjab and that the arrest is illegal. He opposed the remand motion. The court reserved its decision until after lunch.

Read live updates from the courtroom...

CBI lawyer in court: After the CBI registered a case against DIG Bhullar and arrested him, they seized property-related documents, electronic devices, and other evidence. Police raided his home and recovered cash and jewelry.

DIG's lawyer HS Dhanoa: In the documents filed by the CBI, the complainant's signature is missing on one page, and the timing also doesn't match. He then showed the Punjab Vigilance FIR and asked how the time and signature are recorded.

DIG's lawyer: Punjab Vigilance obtained permission to interrogate for two hours in the Mohali CJM's court. Afterward, when the application for a production warrant was filed, the CBI filed an application for a production warrant in the Chandigarh CBI court.

DIG's lawyer, showing High Court and Supreme Court judgments: If the CBI cannot enter Punjab, how did it arrest Bhullar? The CBI should have informed the Punjab government about this first, as the complainant is the DIG of Punjab. This is a Punjab matter. The CBI has illegally arrested the DIG.

CBI's lawyer: If anyone demands a bribe, regardless of who they are, a senior or junior officer, and from whichever state they are, the CBI has jurisdiction and can arrest them. Just because the Punjab Vigilance Department doesn't act in this case doesn't mean the CBI shouldn't.

CBI lawyer: All of this is being investigated: where DIG Bhullar was first posted, his salary at the time, and how much property he owned then, and how much he owns now. After arresting DIG Bhullar, the CBI examined his bank statements, including his salary account in Sector 9, Chandigarh. It revealed the source of the ₹32 lakh that he received within two months, in August and September.

During their previous remand, the two had revealed the names of 10 IPS and 4 IAS officers who laundered black money through land investments through Patiala property dealer Bhupinder Singh. They too may be summoned for questioning via notice. Eight of these IPS officers are still on field postings.

Previously, the CBI raided the property dealer's Patiala and Ludhiana locations and seized 20 lakh rupees in cash, documents, and electronic devices. The CBI may also seek an arrest warrant for the property dealer from the court.

Evidence Found Against 10 IPS Officers and 4 IAS Officers

Sources reveal that when the CBI took Bhullar on a 5-day production warrant, they interrogated him in front of Krishanu Sharda. This interrogation yielded significant evidence. Subsequently, a raid was conducted at the home of property dealer Bhupinder Singh in Patiala. The CBI recovered numerous documents and cash from there.

In addition, the CBI possessed evidence from before the raid, which revealed that property dealer Bhupinder was in contact with several senior officials in Punjab and laundered their money. The CBI has strong evidence that Bhupinder invested money with 10 IPS officers and 4 IAS officers from Punjab. The CBI is now gathering further evidence. After gathering all the evidence and documents, the CBI may issue notices to these 14 officers and summon them for questioning.

The CBI is also investigating all of Bhupinder's bank accounts and has already examined his mobile phone to determine which officers he was in contact with and how often he spoke with them.

According to sources within the CBI, of the 10 IPS officers whose names have surfaced, eight are currently on field duty, and two have received sideline postings. The four IAS officers whose names have surfaced are somehow connected to Mandi Gobindgarh, where the DIG was caught accepting a bribe following a complaint from a scrap dealer.

The CBI has summoned Kuldeep, a DSP from Punjab, for questioning because Kuldeep met with middleman Krishna Sharda while he was in Burail jail.

Voting will take place on November 11th, and counting will take place on November 14th.

All major parties have announced their candidates before the election announcement. The election code of conduct also came into effect with the election announcement. This seat fell vacant about three months ago following the death of AAP MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal.

Read about the candidates from four major parties...

1. AAP gives opportunity to a defector
For the Tarn Taran by-election in Punjab, the four major parties: Congress, AAP, Akali Dal, and BJP have fielded their candidates. Among them, AAP has once again given a chance to a defector. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced Harmeet Sandhu as the candidate last Friday. He left the Akali Dal and joined the AAP.

The AAP, which won 92 out of 117 seats in 2022, fielded leaders from other parties in most of the by-elections in Punjab, and they won. Before Tarn Taran, the AAP won three seats in the by-elections.

2. Congress chose a traditional leader
Congress has nominated Karanbir Singh Burj from this constituency. Burj is the former vice president of the Congress Farmers' Cell and a senior Congress leader in the district. He has also served as the state vice president of the Congress Farmers' Cell. Burj hails from the Tarn Taran region and has consistently raised local issues and farmer concerns in the area. He is considered a supporter and close associate of senior Punjab Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa.

3. BJP also gave ticket to a former Akali
The BJP has nominated Harjeet Singh Sandhu, a former Akali and Youth Akali leader. He has served as the district president of the BJP Tarn Taran since December 2022. He is considered to have a strong hold on local politics and organization. She began her political career in 2007 with the youth wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal, but joined the BJP before the 2022 assembly elections.

4. The Akali Dal has joined forces with the Azad Group.
The Shiromani Akali Dal has nominated Principal Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa as its candidate in the Tarn Taran by-election. She is known as a prominent leader of the "Azad Group." Under her leadership, the local group contested the local body elections, resulting in 43 sarpanches, 8 municipal council councilors, and several former chairmen joining her. Therefore, her support base is considered quite strong. Sukhwinder Kaur has previously served as a school principal, and as a result, she has a reputation among locals as a social worker and a disciplined leader.

Shiromani Akali Dal President and former Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal unexpectedly arrived at the home of farmer leader Balbir Rajewal on Friday. They held a closed-door meeting there. Former minister Sikander Singh Maluka was also present.

This meeting is being interpreted as having several political implications, as farmer leaders are upset with the current AAP government's attitude. CM Bhagwant Mann has repeatedly raised questions about farmers' road blockades. Furthermore, the Punjab Police forcibly removed the farmers' protest at the Shambhu border.

What did the two leaders say after the meeting...

Sukhbir said, "I came to inquire about your health." Speaking to the media after the meeting, Sukhbir Badal said that he had come to inquire about Balbir Singh Rajewal's health. Rajewal had a close relationship with his father, Prakash Singh Badal. Whenever he needed advice on agriculture or Punjab, his father, Prakash Singh Badal, would consult with him. I also came to discuss farming and how it can be made a profitable business and how Punjab can be saved. Sukhbir said that Rajewal is a treasure trove of agricultural knowledge and I came to learn from him. No political discussion took place.

Rajewal said, "Discussion was made about the splitting of a separate Akali Dal and the formation of a new one."
Farmer leader Balbir Rajewal said that this was a personal meeting. During the split of Punjab's regional party, the Akali Dal, and the formation of a separate Akali Dal, I did suggest that the two parties should unite in some way. Beyond this, no political discussion took place in this meeting.

Akali Dal on the margins of politics for 10 years
The Akali Dal's intention behind this meeting is believed to be to regain its foothold in the villages through farmers. The Akali Dal formed the government in Punjab for two consecutive terms from 2007 to 2017. However, during this period, it was in alliance with the BJP. However, this alliance has now broken. Since then, the Akali Dal has been increasingly marginalized in Punjab politics. Punjab's rural communities remain angry with the Akali Dal over the desecration of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the firing incident in the state.

Rajewal was a leader of the farmers' movement and contested elections.

Balbir Rajewal also led the farmers' movement on the Delhi border in 2020-21. He subsequently formed a party called the Samyukta Samaj Morcha and contested all 117 seats in the 2022 elections, with Rajewal as its CM face. However, his party failed to win a single seat.
