People will no longer have to face difficulties at Punjab Police stations to get their cases addressed. The Punjab Police will receive approximately 1600 new personnel by March 2026. These will include Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs). These appointments are being made on a promotional basis. All the personnel are currently undergoing training. This was announced by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav at a press conference in Chandigarh today.

The DGP stated that this will strengthen the police stations. He also said that after calling Dial 112, police assistance will arrive within five to eight minutes. The police have decided to improve their response time for emergency calls. Currently, the response time in Punjab is ten to twelve minutes. They are also planning to purchase 8100 new vehicles for the Police Control Room (PCR).

Modern Control Room to be built in Mohali

The DGP stated that the current response time for the Dial 112 helpline is ten to thirteen minutes. We are going to reduce this to seven to eight minutes. For this, a modern control room will be built in Sector-89 of Mohali at a cost of Rs. 200 crore. Rs. 125 crore will be spent on upgrading vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Police has spent Rs. 800 crore on upgrading vehicles over the past three years. The central government has a vehicle scrap policy, which stipulates that no vehicle older than 15 years should be on the road. We have scrapped 2000 vehicles.

In their place, 1500 four-wheelers and 400 two-wheelers have been inducted into the Punjab Police over the last three years. Next year, we are going to purchase 8100 vehicles for the PCR. All DSPs to Receive New Vehicles

This year, ₹45 crore has been spent on police welfare, ₹80 crore on counter-intelligence, ₹40 crore on the cybercrime division, ₹60 crore on police stations in border areas, ₹106 crore on computerization, ₹142 crore on police buildings, ₹80 crore on modernization, and ₹258 crore on police vehicles. All 454 SHOs (Station House Officers) in the state have new vehicles. This year, all DSPs (Deputy Superintendents of Police) will be provided with new vehicles.

Crime Scene Uploaded on Saakshya App
Officers handling NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) cases are being trained at Rajiv Gandhi Law University to ensure proper handling of cases. Internet speed is being increased in all police stations. Criteria have been set for this. All crime scenes are being uploaded to the e-Saakshya app. So far, 80 percent of the work has been completed.

Four Lakh Criminal Samples in PIAS
To curb drug trafficking, the focus is on financial investigations. The police are now working to control organized crime. The PIAS 2.0 software has been launched. Voice samples of criminals are being taken when they are brought to jail.

Four lakh samples have been collected. Organized Crime 2.0 will be launched. This is being timed with the link sharing initiated by the NIA (National Investigation Agency). Work is underway on passport-linked criminal record verification.

The Punjab government has announced winter holidays for schools. According to the government order, schools will be closed from December 24th to December 31st, inclusive of both days.

According to Anindita Mitra, Secretary of the School Education Department of the Punjab government, this order will apply to all government schools, as well as private aided, recognized, and private schools. Schools will reopen on January 1st.

The Education Department has sent copies of the order to all schools, SCERT, and the Punjab School Education Board. The order will be strictly enforced.

In the last twenty-four hours, the minimum temperature in the state has decreased by 0.1 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to remain dry for the next 7 days. A drop of approximately 2 degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature is expected in the next 48 hours, after which the temperature is likely to gradually increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the state over the next 3 days. Additionally, strong surface winds, or a cold wave, with speeds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour are expected in the state on December 16th.

In light of the increasing incidents of police personnel posting inappropriate videos and reels on social media platforms, the Punjab Police has implemented strict guidelines. Recently, some police officers were seen making dance, Bhangra, and entertainment videos while in uniform, which has affected the department's image.

Blast was carried out at Badshah's club in Chandigarh

Randeep is accused of plotting bomb blasts outside clubs in Gurugram and Chandigarh. On 26 November 2024, there were blasts outside Bollywood singer Badshah's Civil Bar and Lounge and D'Aura Club in Sector-26, Chandigarh. After this, on December 10, similar blasts were also carried out outside the Warehouse and Human Club in Sector-29, Gurugram. Goldie Brar and Rohit Godara had taken responsibility for these attacks.

Know what happened in the last meeting

The last meeting was held on 9th July. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had laid down a condition. CM Mann had said that he has no problem in giving water, but the condition is that Punjab should get the water of Ravi first. Punjab's stand on SYL is clear. This will not happen. Haryana is our brother, if we get water, there is no problem in further water supply.

Before the meeting, CM Mann and CM Saini welcomed each other by hugging each other. This was the first meeting of the CMs of both the states under the leadership of CR Patil and the talks were held in a positive atmosphere.

Mann told the media after the meeting that the talks were held in a very good atmosphere. Haryana CM also said that the meeting was fruitful. Punjab and Haryana are brothers. Both have the same Behra (courtyard). Efforts are being made to find a solution to this issue.

The CM had found a middle path

The Punjab CM had said in the last meeting that a hope has been created by the meeting. The water of the Indus Water Agreement, which was canceled with Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack, should be brought to Punjab. Jhelum water cannot come to Punjab, but Chenab and Ravi water can come. This water can come through Pong, Ranjit Sagar Dam and Bhakra Dam.

What problem do we have in giving that water to Haryana further? Haryana is our brother. We are the heirs of brother Ghanayya, who had given water to the enemies. I told the minister that 23 million litre feet (MAF) of water will go from there. We are fighting for two-three MAF, so what problem will we have?

Two-four canals will be built in Punjab. This will make Punjab riparian again. Minister Patil has responded positively to his statement. However, Punjab's stand on the SYL issue is clear.

Efforts to build consensus before August 13 continue

SYL is 212 km long, previous meetings were inconclusive. In this 212 km long canal, 92 km of Haryana's part has been built, while the construction of Punjab's 122 km part is still incomplete. This meeting is an attempt to build consensus between the two states before the hearing in the Supreme Court on August 13.

The Supreme Court had ruled in favor of Haryana in January 2002 and ordered Punjab to build the canal, but in 2004, the then Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, passed a law in the Assembly and canceled the 1981 agreement.

Meetings have been held 4 times before

The first meeting of the CMs of Punjab and Haryana on this issue was held on 18 August 2020, while the second meeting was held on 14 October 2022 and the third meeting was held on 4 January 2023. After this, the last meeting was held on 9 July. But no consensus could be reached between the two sides.

The entire dispute of SYL canal

Punjab took Rs 1 crore from Haryana on November 18, 1976 and approved the construction of SYL in 1977. Later Punjab started showing reluctance regarding the construction of SYL canal.

In 1979, Haryana knocked on the door of the Supreme Court demanding the construction of SYL. On July 11, 1979, Punjab challenged Section 78 of the Reorganization Act in the Supreme Court.

After the dismissal of the Punjab government in 1980, an agreement was reached between the two states in 1981 in the presence of PM Indira Gandhi. In 1982, Indira Gandhi started the construction of the canal by breaking the bank in Kapuri village of Patiala.

In protest against this, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) opened a front against the digging of SYL. In 1985, the Rajiv-Longowal agreement was signed, in which the construction of the Punjab Canal was agreed upon.

On July 3, 1990, two engineers associated with the construction of SYL were also murdered. The then CM of Haryana, Hukam Singh, demanded from the central government that the construction work be handed over to the BSF.

In 1996, the Supreme Court directed Punjab to build the SYL canal in one year on 2002. In 2015, Haryana requested the Supreme Court to form a constitutional bench for hearing the case.

A 5-member Constitution Bench constituted in 2016 called all the parties during the first hearing. In the second hearing on March 8, the work of filling up the 121 km long canal in Punjab began. The work of filling up the canal was stopped by the Supreme Court by ordering status quo till March 19.

The judicial custody of senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former minister Bikram Singh Majithia, arrested in the disproportionate assets case in Punjab, ended today, due to which he was produced in Mohali court. The court has extended Majithia's judicial custody till August 2. On the other hand, in a joint action by the SIT and the Vigilance Department against Bikram Majithia, raids were conducted at several of his locations in Chandigarh-Delhi on Friday.

Apart from Chandigarh, the Vigilance team has also raided Sainik Farm in Delhi. Which is being described as Majithia's alleged benami property. Its estimated value is estimated to be Rs 150 to 200 crore. During the raid, the technical team was also engaged in collecting evidence. Shell companies related to Majithia and his family are also being investigated, through which drug money was allegedly circulated. The action is based on the statements of witnesses.

Along with this, the police convoy carrying Majithia reached the court, while the administration has started taking strict measures due to the apprehension of a possible demonstration by the Shiromani Akali Dal leaders. Many leaders including Mohali's District Akali President Parwinder Singh Sohana have been taken into preventive custody.

Let us tell you that Majithia was arrested by the Vigilance on June 26 and since July 6, he was in judicial custody in New Nabha Jail. During this time, the Vigilance teams have raided his residence and office in Amritsar and Majitha twice. In today's hearing, information about the recovery made during these raids can be given to the court.

In the last 14 days, two applications were given in Mohali Court

The first application is - his barrack (prisoners' room) in the jail should be changed. His lawyers have said that he has been an MLA and a former minister, so according to the jail rules (jail manual), he should be given special facilities of the Orange category and he should be kept separate from other prisoners.

पंजाब कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता और विधानसभा में विपक्ष के नेता प्रताप सिंह बाजवा एक टीवी चैनल को दिए इंटरव्यू के बाद मुश्किलों में घिर गए हैं। मोहाली के स्टेट साइबर क्राइम पुलिस स्टेशन में उनके खिलाफ एफआईआर दर्ज की गई है। बाजवा के खिलाफ बीएनएस की धारा 197 (1) (डी) और 353 (2) के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया है। वहीं, पुलिस ने उन्हें आज दोपहर 12 बजे पूछताछ के लिए बुलाया था, लेकिन वह पेश नहीं हुए।

इसके बाद बाजवा के वकीलों ने मोहाली पहुंचकर पुलिस अधिकारियों से मुलाकात की। साथ ही कहा कि वह आज पेश नहीं हो सकते। ऐसे में उन्हें एक दिन का समय दिया जाए। वहीं, अधिकारियों ने इस पर सहमति जताई। दूसरी तरफ बाजवा के वकीलों को मोहाली जिला कोर्ट के आदेश पर FIR कॉपी मिल गई है। यह केस एक महिला पुलिस मुलाजिम की शिकायत पर दर्ज हुई है। वहीं, इस मामले में कांग्रेस के प्रभारी छत्तीसगढ़ के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री भूपेश बघेल का बयान भी आया है। उन्होंने कहा कि बाजवा के साथ पूरी पार्टी खड़ी है।

दूसरी तरफ, कांग्रेस पार्टी के विधायक और सांसद बाजवा के समर्थन में उतर आए हैं। कई जिलों में विरोध प्रदर्शन हुए हैं। कांग्रेस ने सरकार की इस कार्रवाई को गलत बताया है। कांग्रेस ने कल सुबह 10 बजे चंडीगढ़ में विरोध प्रदर्शन करने का फैसला किया है।

पुलिस दोपहर 12 बजे उनके सेक्टर 8 स्थित घर पहुंची। इस दौरान बाजवा से ग्रेनेड मामले में उनका सोर्स पूछा गया। वह करीब 15 मिनट तक वहां रही। मीडिया से बातचीत में पुलिस ने कहा कि बाजवा सहयोग नहीं कर रहे हैं। इसके बाद शो का टेलीकास्ट हुआ तो उन पर मामला दर्ज हुआ। इस मामले में सीएम भगवंत मान का बयान भी सामने आया है। सीएम ने कहा कि बाजवा के पास यह सूचना कहां से आई? पाकिस्तान से उनके कौनसे कनेक्शन हैं कि वहां के आतंकी उन्हें फोन कर बता रहे हैं कि उन्होंने कितने बम भेजे हैं?

वित्तीय संकट के बीच पंजाब सरकार के खजाने में 2500 करोड़ रुपए आए हैं। सरकार ने यह पैसा किसी संस्था से लोन लेकर या कोई प्रॉपर्टी बेचकर नहीं कमाया है, बल्कि यह पैसा 7000 फर्मों की IGST रिवर्सल प्रक्रिया से मिला है।

जो पहले उचित प्रक्रिया के अभाव में दूसरे राज्यों के पास पड़ा हुआ था। इसके अलावा विभाग उन कंपनियों पर भी नजर रख रहा है। जो किसी न किसी तरह से टैक्स चोरी में लगी हुई हैं।

जब राज्य कर विभाग सरकारी खजाने को मजबूत करने के प्रयास कर रहा था, तब यह बात सामने आई। दिसंबर माह में कुल सात हजार फर्मों में से 22 ऐसी फर्में पाई गईं। आईजीएसटी रिवर्सल प्रक्रिया पूरी न होने के कारण करीब 1400 करोड़ दूसरे राज्यों में पड़े थे। अकेले रेल कोच फैक्टरी से सरकारी खजाने को 687.69 करोड़ रुपए मिले।

पावरकॉम से 129.14 करोड़, नाभा पावर लिमिटेड से 89.50 करोड़, तलवंडी साबो थर्मल प्लांट से 83.03 करोड़, गोइंदबल से 44.16 करोड़ रुपए मिले। इसी तरह बठिंडा रिफाइनरी को 80.14 करोड़ और ट्रास्को को 40.99 करोड़, फोर्टिस हेल्थ केयर को 24.02 करोड़, कारगिल इंडिया को 14.55 करोड़ रुपए मिले। इसके अलावा कई धार्मिक संस्थाएं और कंपनियां हैं, जिनसे पैसा आया है।

पंजाब की आर्थिक स्थिति को मजबूत करने के लिए सरकार की ओर से कई प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं। इसी सिलसिले में अक्टूबर महीने में सरकार की ओर से रिटायर्ड आईआरएस अधिकारी अरविंद मोदी को वित्त विभाग का मुख्य सलाहकार नियुक्त किया गया था।

इसके बाद सरकार की ओर से पंजाब की आर्थिक स्थिति को मजबूत करने के लिए कई प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं। पंजाब के वित्त मंत्री हरपाल सिंह चीमा का साफ कहना है कि पंजाब के खजाने को मजबूत करने के लिए प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं। इस सिलसिले में कई कदम उठाए जा रहे हैं।

मोहाली में बंद कमरे में अंगीठी जलाकर सो रहे मां और बेटे की दम घुटने से मौत हो गई, जबकि पिता को बेहोशी की हालत में अस्पताल में भर्ती करवाया गया है। जहां उसकी हालत गंभीर बनी हुई है।

घटना 26/27 दिसंबर रात न्यू चंडीगढ़ स्थित पंजाब ग्रेटर सोसाइटी की है। मकान मालिक के मुताबिक, नेपाल का रहने वाला दीपक उनके यहां घरेलू नौकर के तौर पर काम करता है। दीपक अपनी पत्नी परशुपति और डेढ़ साल के बेटे के साथ घर में बने सर्वेंट क्वार्टर में रहता था।

दीपक अपनी पत्नी और बच्चे के साथ सोने गया और सर्दी से बचने के लिए अंगीठी कमरे में जला दी। देर रात जब सांस लेने में दिक्कत हुई, तो दीपक ने अपनी पत्नी और बच्चे को जगाने की कोशिश की, लेकिन दोनों बेसुध पड़े थे। इस दौरान पूरे कमरे में धुआं फैल गया, जिससे दीपक भी बेहोश हो गया।

मकान मालिक ने तुरंत मुल्लांपुर थाना पुलिस और कंट्रोल रूम को सूचना दी। सूचना मिलने पर एसएचओ सतेंद्र सिंह की अगुआई में पुलिस टीम मौके पर पहुंची। पुलिस ने तीनों को अस्पताल पहुंचाया, जहां से उन्हें पीजीआई चंडीगढ़ रेफर कर दिया गया। डॉक्टरों ने जांच के बाद महिला और बच्चे को मृत घोषित कर दिया, जबकि दीपक का इलाज जारी है।

एसएचओ मुल्लांपुर सतेंद्र सिंह ने बताया कि अंगीठी के धुएं की वजह से बच्चे और मां की मौत हो गई। नौकर दीपक की हालत गंभीर है और अस्पताल में उसका इलाज जारी है। पुलिस मामले की गहनता से जांच कर रही है।

पंजाब CM भगवंत मान पिछले 24 घंटे से मोहाली के फोर्टिस अस्पताल में भर्ती है। वह रूटीन चैकअप के लिए वहां पर गए थे। लेकिन जांच के बाद डॉक्टरों ने उन्हें अपनी निगरानी में रखने का फैसला लिया था। आज उनकी कल हुए कुछ अन्य जांच की रिपोर्ट आएंगी। उसके बाद उनकी छुट्टी बारे फैसला लिया जाना है।

इससे पहले सीएम कार्यालय की ओर से दी गई जानकारी में डॉक्टरों का कहना था कि मुख्यमंत्री अभी बिल्कुल ठीक हैं और उन्हें कोई खास परेशानी नहीं हो रही है। जांच में मुख्यमंत्री के फेफड़ों की एक आर्टरी में सूजन के लक्षण पाए गए हैं, जिससे हृदय पर दबाव पड़ रहा है। इससे ब्लड प्रेशर में उतार-चढ़ाव होने लगता है। इस पर अभी कुछ और जांच होनी है और कुछ और ब्लड टेस्ट किए गए हैं। जिनकी रिपोर्ट आनी बाकी है।

इससे पहले आम आदमी पार्टी (AAP) सुप्रीमो अरविंद केजरीवाल के जेल से छूटने के बाद भगवंत मान के बीमार होने की बात सामने आई थी। ये भी सूचना मिली थी कि उन्हें दिल्ली वापस लेकर जाना पड़ा था। हालांकि सीएम ऑफिस की तरफ से इसे मानने से मना कर दिया गया।

जिसके बाद बठिंडा में रैली के दौरान सीएम ने विरोधियों को जवाब देते हुए कहा था कि अगर मैं चलता हुआ बूट का फीता बांधने के लिए बैठ जाता हूं तो कहते हैं भगवंत मान गिर गया। बताओ यारो। मैं ऐसे नहीं बैठता, मैं तो आपकी जड़ों में बैठूंगा। सीएम ने कहा कि यह आपका प्यार है। यह मेरे से नहीं डरते हैं, यह आपसे डरते हैं। क्योंकि इन्हें पता है कि इसके साथ यह लोग हैं।

पंजाब के मोहाली में पंजाबी सीरियल की शूटिंग के दौरान हंगामा हो गया। शूटिंग में आनंदकारज (सिख धर्म में विवाह) की शूटिंग होनी थी। इसके लिए गुरुद्वारा साहिब का सेट बनाया गया था। जहां प्रतीक के तौर पर निशान साहिब और पालकी साहिब सजाई गई थी।

तभी किसी ने निहंगों को बता दिया कि घंडुआं के अकालगढ़ में बेअदबी की जा रही है। जिसके बाद निहंग वहां पहुंच गए। उन्होंने शूटिंग रुकवा दी। हंगामे का पता चलते ही खरड़ पुलिस वहां पहुंच गई। जहां शूटिंग कर रहे प्रोडक्शन यूनिट ने कहा कि निहंगों ने उनके साथ मारपीट और बदसलूकी की है।

पुलिस ने दोनों पक्षों को थाने बुला बयान दर्ज किए। दूसरी तरफ निहंगों ने चेतावनी दी है कि अगर पुलिस ने आरोपियों पर कार्रवाई नहीं की तो फिर वे संघर्ष करेंगे। पुलिस ने उन्हें मामले की जांच का भरोसा दिया है।

सोमवार को घंडुआं के अकालगढ़ के नजदीक पंजाबी सीरियल उडारियां की शूटिंग चल रही थी। जहां पर गुरुद्वारा साहिब का सैट लगाया गया था। यहां पर प्रतीक के तौर पर श्री गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब का पावन स्वरूप भी सजाया गया था। वहां पर 3 ग्रंथी भी बुलाए गए थे।

निहंगों ने यह सब देखा तो भड़क उठे। उन्होंने कहा कि यह सिख मर्यादा के खिलाफ है। ऐसा नहीं होना चाहिए। उनके हंगामें के बाद शूटिंग रोक दी गई। उन्होंने शूटिंग करने वालों पर कार्रवाई की मांग करते हुए कहा कि उन्हें सब कुछ पता था, उन पर भी कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए।

मौके पर पहुंचे निहंग बाबा निहाल सिंह बरौली ने बताया कि हमें बाबा मेजर सिंह का बेअदबी के संबंध में फोन आया था। जब हम यहां पहुंचे तो पता लगा कि गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब की पालकी सजाई हुई। तीन ग्रंथी जो वीडियो बना रहे थे। चौर साहिब आदि यहां पर था। यहां उड़ारियां सीरियल की शूटिंग चल रही थी।

श्री गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब का तख्त हर जगह सजाना शोभा नहीं देता है। सरगुन मेहता ने सबसे अधिक बेअदबी की है। हम चाहते है कि शूटिंग करवा रहे पति-पत्नी पर केस दर्ज होना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि खालसा कौम के साथ गलत किया जा रहा है। वहीं, प्रशासन ने कार्रवाई की तो खालसा पंथ के सिस्टम के हिसाब से कार्रवाई करेंगे।
