The first batch of pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra departed from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at 4:00 AM on Thursday. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the devotees, who set out for the holy cave of Baba Barfani amidst resounding chants of 'Bam-Bam Bhole'.

This 57-day-long pilgrimage will officially commence on July 3, operating through both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, and will conclude on August 28 (Raksha Bandhan).

Strict Registration and Preparations

• Only devotees who had pre-registered, acquired their RFID cards, and successfully completed their e-KYC were permitted to join the first batch.

• So far, approximately 4 lakh (400,000) pilgrims have registered for the Amarnath Yatra this year.

• The administration has finalized all necessary arrangements—including security, medical facilities, and transportation—to ensure a safe and smooth journey.

• On Wednesday, LG Manoj Sinha visited the base camp to personally review the security, medical setups, lodging, electricity and water supply, as well as the help desks.

Char Dham Yatra: Badrinath Surpasses Kedarnath in Footfall

Simultaneously, the Char Dham Yatra is witnessing a continuous rise in devotee numbers. A notable shift in pilgrim trends has been observed over the last 20 days.

While Kedarnath led by over 2 lakh visitors until May 31, the trend shifted by the third week of June, with Badrinath taking the lead by June 30.

जम्मू-कश्मीर में भारी बारिश के कारण अमरनाथ यात्रा शनिवार (6 जुलाई) को रोक दी गई है। पवित्र गुफा तक जाने वाले पहलगाम और बालटाल, दोनों रूट पर कल रात से रुक-रुक कर बारिश हो रही है। यात्रियों को वापस उनके बेस कैंप भेजा जा रहा है। मौसम में सुधार के बाद यात्रा फिर से शुरू होगी।

29 जून से शुरू हुई अमरनाथ यात्रा 19 अगस्त को खत्म होगी। 3,800 मीटर ऊंचे गुफा मंदिर में अब तक 1.50 लाख से ज्यादा श्रद्धालु दर्शन कर चुके हैं। हालांकि, अमरनाथ यात्रा शुरू होने के सातवें दिन यानी 5 जुलाई को ही बाबा बर्फानी अदृश्य हो गए हैं। ऐसा पहली बार हुआ है। अब यहां आने वाले श्रद्धालुओं को पवित्र गुफा के ही दर्शन होंगे।

उत्तराखंड में भारी बारिश और लैंडस्लाइड के कारण डोलिया देवी (फाटा) में रुद्रप्रयाग से गौरीकुंड और ऋषिकेश से बद्रीनाथ जाने वाला नेशनल हाईवे 107 और 58 ब्लॉक हो गया है। सड़क पर जगह-जगह मलबा जमा है, जिसके कारण आवागमन बाधित है।

मौसम विभाग ने उत्तराखंड में आज भारी बारिश का रेड अलर्ट जारी किया है। राज्य में 6-7 जुलाई के दौरान अलग-अलग स्थानों पर भारी बारिश होने की आशंका है। इस दौरान 64.5-115.5 mm से 115.5-204.4 mm तक बारिश हो सकती है।
