Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving a life sentence in Rohtak's Sunaria Jail for the sexual assault of female followers and the murder of a journalist, has once again been released from jail. He has been granted a 40-day parole. After receiving parole around 11:30 AM on Monday, he left for the Dera headquarters in Sirsa.

A convoy of luxury vehicles from the Sirsa Dera arrived to pick up Gurmeet Ram Rahim from Sunaria Jail, including two bulletproof Land Cruisers, two Fortuners, and two other vehicles. This is the 15th time the Dera chief has been released from jail on parole or furlough. Earlier, Dera chief Ram Rahim had come out of jail to celebrate his birthday on August 15th.

It is being said that this time Ram Rahim will not go to the Barnawa Ashram in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, but will stay at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa. Police personnel have been deployed around the Dera for Ram Rahim's security.

Dera chief Ram Rahim has been in jail since 2017.
On August 25, 2017, Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the case of sexual assault of two female followers. Later, on January 17, 2019, he was given a life sentence in the murder case of journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati. In October 2021, the CBI court sentenced him to life imprisonment in the murder case of Dera manager Ranjit Singh.

Three years after the sentence, the High Court acquitted Ram Rahim in this case. Ram Rahim is currently imprisoned in Sunaria Jail in Rohtak. He has been released from here on parole and furlough 14 times so far. This is the 15th time Ram Rahim will be released from jail. He was previously granted parole during the Delhi Assembly elections.

Earlier, in April, he was released on 21-day parole. In January, he was released on 30-day parole a week before the Delhi Assembly elections. During this time, he stayed at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa. Previously, when he was out of jail, he stayed at the Dera ashram in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh.

There, he released a video message to his followers, appealing to them to follow the instructions issued by Dera officials. He is not allowed to gather his followers at the Dera, but he can communicate with them through virtual means.

What are parole and furlough, under which Ram Rahim is released?

Parole: A prisoner can be granted parole if they have completed a portion of their sentence. Parole is granted to prisoners only under special conditions, such as the death or illness of a family member, the marriage of a close relative, or other compelling reasons. There are two types of parole: regular and custody. In regular parole, the prisoner can remain free, but in custody parole, the prisoner is accompanied by the police.

After this, on 17 January 2019, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in the journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case. हरियाणा के हाई प्रोफाइल साध्वी यौन शोषण मामले में आज पंजाब-हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट में सुनवाई होनी है। राम रहीम ने सात साल पहले इस मामले में सजा को हाईकोर्ट में चुनौती दी थी। इसको लेकर उसकी ओर से याचिका भी दायर की गई थी।

केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (CBI) ने कोर्ट में इसका विरोध किया है। वहीं, साधुओं को नपुंसक बनाने के मामले में सच्चा सौदा डेरा प्रमुख की मुश्किलें बढ़ने वाली हैं। इस केस की डायरी और गवाहों के बयानों की कॉपी सौंपने के पंचकूला सीबीआई कोर्ट के आदेश के खिलाफ दायर सीबीआई की याचिका पर पंजाब-हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट ने फैसला सुरक्षित रख लिया है।

सीबीआई की इस याचिका पर हाईकोर्ट ने 2019 में इस केस की सुनवाई पर रोक लगा दी थी, तब से इस केस की सुनवाई बंद है। अब इस केस का फैसला आने के बाद जल्द ही सुनवाई शुरू हो सकती है।

राम रहीम की सजा को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका पर पंजाब-हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट में 7 साल बाद सुनवाई शुरू हुई है। जबकि दोषी राम रहीम ने हाईकोर्ट में हरियाणा के पंचकूला की जिला अदालत द्वारा उसे सुनाई गई 20 साल की सजा के आदेश को 7 साल पहले चुनौती दी थी। उसने अपील में कहा था कि सीबीआई अदालत ने साक्ष्यों और गवाहों को सही प्रकार से जांचे बिना उसे दोषी ठहराकर सजा सुनाई है।

साथ ही कहा कि मामले में गुमनाम शिकायत पर तीन वर्ष की देरी से एफआईआर दायर की गई। वहीं सीबीआई ने पीड़िता के बयान भी 6 वर्ष के बाद रिकॉर्ड किए थे। मामले में साध्वियों ने सजा को बढ़ाकर उम्रकैद की मांग की थी।

मामले में सीबीआई ने सीबीआई अदालत में दलील दी थी कि वर्ष 1999 में यौन शोषण हुआ था, लेकिन बयान वर्ष 2005 में दर्ज किए गए थे। क्योंकि एफआईआर के समय शिकायतकर्ता नहीं थी। डेरा मुखी राम रहीम ने अपनी अपील में कहा कि सीबीआई की पीड़िताओं पर कोई दबाव नहीं होने की बात गलत है।

क्योंकि दोनों पीड़िता सीबीआई के संरक्षण में थी। ऐसे में उन पर सीबीआई का दबाव था। याची के पक्ष के साक्ष्य और गवाहों पर सीबीआई अदालत द्वारा गौर नहीं किए जाने की बात भी राम रहीम ने अपनी याचिका में कही है।आरोप खारिज कर सजा रद्द करने की मांग

राम रहीम की अपील में कहा गया है कि सीबीआई ने डेरा मुखी के मेडिकल एग्जामिनेशन की जरुरत नहीं समझी। इन सभी को आधार बनाते हुए डेरा मुखी ने उस पर लगाए गए आरोपों को खारिज करते हुए, उसे सुनाई गई सजा को रद्द करने की मांग की है। हाईकोर्ट ने सात साल पहले इस अपील को सुनवाई के लिए एडमिट किया था, लेकिन सुनवाई अब शुरू हो रही है।

गुरमीत राम रहीम को 2017 में 2 साध्वियों से यौन शोषण मामले में 10-10 साल की सजा हुई है। वहीं पत्रकार रामचंद्र छत्रपति और सिरसा डेरे के पूर्व प्रबंधक रणजीत सिंह हत्याकांड में उम्रकैद की सजा हुई है। राम रहीम को 25 अगस्त 2017 को रोहतक की सुनारिया जेल भेजा गया था। उसे सजा सुनाने के बाद पंचकूला में भयंकर हिंसा फैल गई थी।

पंजाब एंड हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट ने डेरा सच्चा सौदा चीफ राम रहीम समेत 5 लोगों को डेरा मैनेजर रणजीत सिंह हत्याकांड में बरी कर दिया है। राम रहीम समेत 5 आरोपियों को CBI कोर्ट ने उम्रकैद की सजा दी थी।

राम रहीम इस वक्त रोहतक की सुनारिया जेल में बंद है। उसे 3 मामलों में सजा हुई थी। इनमें रणजीत हत्याकांड के अलावा पत्रकार रामचंद्र छत्रपति की हत्या और साध्वियों के यौन शोषण का केस भी शामिल है। पत्रकार की हत्या में उसे उम्रकैद और यौन शोषण के 2 केसों में 10-10 साल की कैद हुई थी। इस केस में बरी होने के बावजूद राम रहीम को अभी जेल में ही रहना होगा।

कुरुक्षेत्र के रहने वाले डेरे के मैनेजर रणजीत सिंह की 10 जुलाई 2002 को गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई थी। इसकी पुलिस जांच हुई, लेकिन डेरे को क्लीन चिट दे दी गई। रणजीत का परिवार संतुष्ट नहीं था। पुलिस जांच से असंतुष्ट रणजीत सिंह के बेटे जगसीर सिंह ने जनवरी 2003 में हाईकोर्ट में याचिका दायर कर CBI जांच की मांग की थी।

हालांकि, शुरुआत में इस मामले में राम रहीम का नाम नहीं था, लेकिन साल 2003 में जांच CBI को सौंपी गई। फिर 2006 में राम रहीम के ड्राइवर खट्टा सिंह के बयान पर डेरा प्रमुख को शामिल किया गया। इस मामले में 2007 में कोर्ट ने आरोपियों पर आरोप तय किए थे।

19 साल के बाद अक्टूबर 2021 में डेरा मुखी समेत 5 आरोपियों को दोषी करार दिया गया। जिसके बाद CBI ने इन्हें उम्रकैद की सजा दे दी। सजा मिलने के तीन साल बाद राम रहीम हाईकोर्ट से बरी हो गया।

रणजीत का पूरा परिवार डेरे से जुड़ा था, चिट्‌ठी के बाद इस्तीफा दिया
साल 2002 में रणजीत सिंह डेरा सच्चा सौदा के मैनेजर थे। रणजीत सिंह कुरुक्षेत्र के रहने वाले थे। उनका पूरा परिवार भी डेरे से जुड़ा हुआ था। सब कुछ ठीक चल रहा था कि अचानक एक गुमनाम चिठ्ठी की वजह से डेरा सच्चा सौदा में हंगामा खड़ा हो गया था। उस गुमनाम खत में एक साध्वी का यौन शोषण किए जाने का खुलासा था।

चिठ्ठी सामने आते ही डेरा सच्चा सौदा पर सवाल उठने लगे। डेरे में यौन शोषण के आरोप सामने आने के बाद रणजीत सिंह आहत हो गए। इसी बात को लेकर उन्होंने डेरे के मैनेजर पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था। उनके साथ परिवार के लोग भी डेरे से अलग हो गए।

रणजीत सिंह की हत्या का मामला गुमनाम चिट्‌ठी से जुड़ा हुआ है, जिसमें डेरे में साध्वियों के यौन शोषण के आरोप लगाए गए थे। ये वह चिट्‌ठी थी, जो तत्कालीन PM अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी को भेजी गई थी। CBI ने दावा किया था कि डेरे को शक था कि रणजीत ने ही अपनी बहन से साध्वियों के यौन शोषण की गुमनाम चिट्‌ठी लिखवाई है।

CBI ने जांच के बाद कोर्ट में कहा था कि राम रहीम को शक था कि गुमनाम चिट्‌ठी के रणजीत का हाथ है। इस चिट्‌ठी में रणजीत की बहन का भी जिक्र था। इस चिट्‌ठी के सामने आने के बाद रणजीत को डेरे में बुलाया गया। जहां उसे गंभीर नतीजे भुगतने की चेतावनी दी गई थी। हालांकि, रणजीत ने कहा कि उसका इस चिट्‌ठी के पीछे कोई भूमिका नहीं। जिसके बाद उसकी हत्या हो गई।

यह चिट्‌ठी बाद में सिरसा के पत्रकार रामचंद्र छत्रपति ने अपने अखबार में छापी थी। इसके बाद पत्रकार रामचंद्र छत्रपति को 24 अक्टूबर को गोली मारी गई थी। इसके बाद उसे दिल्ली के अपोलो अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया। जहां 21 नवंबर को दिल्ली के अपोलो अस्पताल में उनकी मौत हो गई थी। छत्रपति की हत्या के केस में भी राम रहीम उम्रकैद काट रहा है।
